how long and how much should this process cost? Is mercedes ripping me off at $950?? the parts are 250 labor 700!!! how could this be someone please explain. He said they have to lower the rear suspension in order to do this. Is this true?

yes they are tellin you the truth when i had my LSD installed the charged me 1100 bucks (not dealer a independent shop) i also seen the car part way threw and everything back there is takin of.

LSD is critical, it's as if the 55k's were all shipped incomplete.

Given, it's an expensive piece but VERY IMPORTANT FOR STREET LAUNCHES.

Without LSD, only one wheel spins when you lose traction, and you ALWAYS loose traction with that much power.

Quaife, Quaife, Quaife. Just a very reliable company, they make excellent diffs and have been doing so forever. Of course there are also a lot of other great diff manufacturers out there, so go with what you can get easily.

i have no idea why it would crack but since its gonna be out id slap the quaife in. it is a no brainer IMO. if your leaving your car stock i wouldnt worrie to much but if you plan to mod get the LSD.

Any ticking when turning at slow speed with the Quaife? Its not full lock is it?

my undeerstanding is its 100% lock
BUt i have heard some one mention clicking and clink sounds when reversing turning

no clicking or clunking are you crazy? someone needs to check their install.

Quaife is 0-100% variable LSD - thats why its so popular.

The more differential spin you get the more it locks up ... also comes with lifetime guarantee... dunno what more you could want from an LSD.

I still need to get one ....
