Only if you're trapping faster than 125 mph.
Hold the gear (no shift) and you will see a gain.
If you are only after a couple of tenths, I bet the tranny upgrade can net you that easily. You can measure the shifts with a sundial.

I think Quaife can actually install them for you as well. They sell the product and they also have a couple of techs to install if they are not too far from where you guys live.........

It means don't let it shift. Your car won't stop, trust me. ![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
You probably won't be trapping higher than 125 without nitrous anyway. I don't see the problem.![nix](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/nixweiss.gif)
You also do highway runs where the gearing would help you, IMO.
If you are only concerned with 1/4 mile, save your cash and increase traction. Better tires, a diff, a looser torque converter and a trans that doesn't shift in dog years would be a good start.

Quaife tech data
I'm very excited because today, while I was at Merc Service for installing my new alcantara F1 wheel I met there a common friend and had the opportunity to convince Merc Service to support me installing (almost) all mods I want.
It' s a long time I would have liked Quaife diff as a first substantial mod.
Point is that Quaife Europe do not officially produce the diff for our 211-219 series ... it seems that the diff that is usually fitted also in US was originally conceived for a truck 215 series.
I attach data sheet for this diff "9V". could anybody check if it is the same we are talking about?
I found an year old long debate in this forum about pros of this diff (I can find links if somebody is interested)
but unfortunately I couldn't find a clear conclusion about best option for FINAL DRIVE: we have 2,65 ratio and could change for shorter 2,82 (used by tuner MKB; in former AMGs, in current SL and in the new 63) or even 3,07 used in CLK DTM.

Jangy,
I also would be interested in this for my CLS55.
I would need a highly recommended installer in the greater NY metro/ tristate vicinity with a reasonable installation cost.
does any one know what such an install does in terms of voiding the factory warranty?
can M-B say the whole powertrain coverage is voided because we put in a non M-B LSD??
thanks for your organizing efforts!

I think with over 700 HP its possible to trap 125 without NOS...
I am not only concerned with 1/4 mile, but most of the races happand on the streets....
I got MT DR for 1/4 runs...
Where can I get looser torgue coverter ...for trans to shift faster I need to get TCU...

From this thread C43's had 3.07 final ratio:

There is some speculation in this thread that 300E's had it too, with 4-speed:
