Thinking of getting this bad boy LSD after all the recommendations.
I suffer from traction intervention on the streets allot and most of the races i do are from traffic lights and slow rolls.
So thought about it and time to consider LSD!, But :
Thanks

I am ready to get one as well...
How do you guys like your Qualifes ??? Any probs ???
Does its reeally make the car accelerate better of the line ???
As far as I know Qualife is an OPNE diff like those on M-cars, then why do most of the major tuners offer fixed LSD ratios for MB cars from 30/70% and 70/30% or in btw ???

Quaife is the best available 0-100% lockable - no fixed %age lock and no clutch plates to wear out etc ...
also lifetime warranty .....![EEK!](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)
Only guys who make them are Quaife USA ... the UK guys dont make them here and will not import them either - I've checked

Correct...the advantage to this setup over the fixed lock is huge. It allows you to use as much of the locking power as needed in a nice and smooth fashion. The others are only as good if you like to floor it around turns, where it is always locked.
The best price I have heard is about $1500 delivered to your door. I am not sure what install costs. I am also interested, if anyone wants to do a GB with SIGNIFICANT savings. I will also contact them direct and see if they will run us a deal.
As Rocket said, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get it installed by a qualified technician. We have one here in SD, but are always looking for more.

I would assume that we could get a better price on a GB. I have a place to install, and it isn't Creative. Maybe I'll see if Adam is interested in the GB part. The $1500 I heard was basically retail.

Guys give Al @ CPT a call. He's done a lot of work with Quaife stuff with various makes/models and has done a number of installs in various 55 cars. He also ships internationally.

Guys, leave the price to me. I will contact all the people and get all the info. For those concerned with getting the proper configuration or even custom ones, never fear I will look into all of that.
What I need is for all interested to post their info. For example, add model year, desired gearing, etc. I want to keep my final gearing the same, I just want the LSD. I know that we want shims, etc. PLEASE DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER THIS AS A DYI. Many local shops should have plenty of experience in swapping these in. Do your homework.
I'm going to get the best price I can on 10. If we can't get 10, then that is a risk. I just don't think 5 is enough buying power to get a DEEP (Jangy) discount.

(2002) SLK32; (2005) C55, E55T, SLK55; (RIP) '95 SL500, '98 C43, '01 SLK320, '03 SL55, '04 SL600
Mine is a 2005 E55T, Quafie with E55 stock gearing would be fine please.
Would also like one for a 2005 C55, I'd heard they take the same Quafie
(thus two units if true, one with E55 gearing, one with C55 gearing).
Thanks for getting this organized.

2005 E55 drowned/ 2011 CTS-v coupe gone/ 2012 E63 PP,LSD finally here
I would be interested in a quaife also and maybe a set of 2.82 gears, does changing the ring and pinion gear make the job more entailed, from what I understand swapping out the stocker for a quaife is pretty straight forward as long as you have some different width shims, take the stocker out unbolt the ring gear/install ring gear on quaife and measure side to side clearences, once you start changing the pinion gear is when you start messing around with depth and then you need to set the backlash and make sure the pinion gear and ring gear are engaged correctly, the proper gauges would be a must, when I asked my dealership about this they said they don't change out "the guts" they just install new whole assemblies
, anyone know of any good installer on the east coast

You are absolutely correct. When I said I would take this on, obviously price delivered is the metric. But, some people mentioned that Quaiffe had the capabilities and some asked for the option, so Isaid I'd ask. I'll get the info. All I want is my normal gearing with the LSD. I'm trying to get enough of us to get it for about $1200 each. If you guys think that is still steep, let me know and I'll look more. I'm in no rush, but would like to get this going. I already have an email into EVO, since they should get first dibs. I've also started contacting all the info you all put up, plus Quaiffe. Maybe they need a distributor in SD?

Jangy,
Let me know what the final price is when all is said and done. I would want just the LSD by itself. My stock gearing is already 2:82. Let me know what the best price is.
TIA
