Hood looks nice but why not try an alternate route? Many years back I had a custom hood made for two of my cars one was an older SL the other a Porsche.
I found these guys in FL and they were the ones and I think still do the work for Renntech and many one off prototypes, Eurocoachworks in FL, I think they are in Sarasotta not sure, i think try and google them they do sick work and all metal not fiberglass. If i recall the prices were not bad and when you go custom you can design it the way you like so it will be no cookie cutter hood.
Give them a call if you can find their contact info. You can get a donor hood fairly cheap online to experiement here.

This is a Prototype hood done for SEMA. The actual hood will be carbon fiber to reduce additional weight. Design of the vents may change slightly as well. In addition, a full carbon grill will be available as an option. I'll post more pics when I get a chance.

the vents need to be clean like the brabus hood, not big cut outs in the hood w/ a vent under stuck through.

ones too fast according to CHP!
just so that you know, they are not just "not big cut outs in the hood w/ a vent under stuck through" - it is a Carbon hood with vents ala the BMW GTR hoods.
We have done some with the Brabus style vents, and it is not my taste.
But that is the great thing about a free market economy, you are free to buy what you like and we are all free to like different things!
Thanks

Some people just don't remember the old saying "If you have nothing good to say, don't say anything." That is a shame, as the internet (and chat board in particular) would be a much friendlier place if people just would stick to that rule.
Thanks

It may reduce weight and help performance, but lookwise, it looks too "regular". I wish they would've made a couple of more changes to make it look more unique
Does anybody know how much weight reduction is expected from the carbon-fiber hood?

Sweet! Can I send a container of hoods? I will supply the best jigsaw blades you can buy and the beer of your choice - I will even make it a case per hood!

Instead of knee jerk reaction why not step back, accept the constructive criticism, and move forward with your design.
Yes people can use their $$ to vote on what items are "good looking" but the people making comments are your prospective buyers. So their opinions are valuable to you as a vendor. Auto makers spend millions of focus groups for just that reason and they don't tell people to keep quiet if they criticize their new prospective item. If you don't want to accept what the individual has to say you dont have to change your design. You as the designer and vendor for the parts can select the final design but a good product pleases the maximum number of customers possible.
A vented hood will likely be popular for the car but the design, structure and and quality will likely dictate the volume of sales.

Ok,ok... So whats the deal with the CF Grille? wil it be available as a seperate piece, and will it be a 3-4 bar design, or just a CF standard style?

If you want to criticize, please make it constructive. We are absolutely open to that. Presentation is everything. Otherwise don't waste the board's bandwidth with pointless negative comments.
Yes, the plans are for the grill to be available as a separate piece. It will be a different design than the stock unit. Closer to the CLS, with no more than 3 bars, perhaps less.

Also, location and design/angle of the vents to be functional is important. You have to place the vents in an area (close to center) to allow for max cooling. Too far off to the side (albeit it may look better) and they're pretty worthless for function. Likewise, an angled vent is more functional that a flat vent in this case with regards to airflow and minimizing water entry.
