Back from my "Rev" sponsored 30 day vacation. I wonder if they just slap the badges over at FJ on anything with a AMG goodie on it ? I tried to go over to the District when it opened. Too Crowded. Guess I will give it another try soon. Man everything on my screen is red today. Ouch.

 

I have a feeling some freaking retard designed the traffic around that place and he should be sent to jail for it. Some great businesses there (lucilles', Ra, Costco) and I avoid it as much as possible.

But you'll never believe this (sorry to jack this post) I bought a Nov-17th put option on Yahoo at $30 for $1 yesterday. It has gone up 149% already. unfreakingbelievavle. Loving it.

I just bought a call option on SIRI for Dec-22 ($4 at $0.30) we'll see how that pays out.

Who cares? why's everyone wining about this? Some of you seem to think you're so special b/c you have a "real amg" whatever that means. So what if cars with AMG body kits have amg written all over them? why the bashing? It doesn't matter!

My ride has the C32 kit stock for the 2005 which comes with AMG everything except engine. Who cares if it has an amg emblem or regular emblem. Grow up boys and girls. Let people do what they want. If it makes them happy, let them be. Just do your own thing. Laugh if you want, but stop complaining. It's annoying.

FYI it's a group of blacks that would only let people into their club if their skin was light enough to see their blue veins. Blacks were segregating against other blacks b/c their skin wasn't light "enough." Segregating within a community is so horrible. You guys are doing the same thing,....saying some people aren't as good b/c they don't have the "real amg," and poking fun b/c they mod their car a certain way. We're all mercedes fans, enthusiasts and mostly owners. Let's just enjoy the ride.

 

Threads like this will continue as long as people 'pose.' I didn't start this thread to 'look down at the less-fortunate' or 'feel extra special cause I own an AMG.' Shoot, I used to drive a Camry 90% of the time for work. I could care less of what people thought of me. My point is a car should not define an individual or be used simply as a status symbol and that is part of the reason I think it's in poor taste to upbadge. Be proud of what you got and do not pose.

 

Often come from the factory...? Does that mean sometimes they don't? How much sense does that make? Tell you what, since I can go into the AMG Private Lounge I'll put the issue to rest, but I'm pretty sure I already know the answer...

It's interesting that people who rebadge their cars in the hopes of impressing people will often have the exact opposite effect.

For the people who don't know and/or don't care, the AMG or the 6.3 badges don't mean anything to them intellectually or emotionally.

For the enthusiasts in the know, it backfires because he or she can often identify a badged car immediately, so in the end the perpetrator ends up looking the bigger fool.

A dealer doing so will face a serious lawsuit if a car is ever sold as something it's not.....

 

I saw this one on the road. He had the quad exhaust, E55 style wheels, all of the badges, but an E320 front bumper and no E55 side skirts..... and a hitch on the back...

I doubt that. When you buy a AMG badged SL500 like my brother did it does not say anywhere in the papperwork that you have an AMG car....Nor does the stealership sell it as an AMG car. The just have the badge IMO to show that it's an AMG kit. Now if the car had a E63 badge and it was not then yes there would be seroius lawsuits but not for an AMG badge.

 

No that just makes you an idiot. You're not getting the point here...i said if it has the AMG kit and you got it from the factory then w.e, but if you put a E63, E55, SLR badge on a car that is not then you're gay.

 

Good for you. To me it's not a big deal. We know what's what...and i don't really flame on people who buy a MB with a AMG kid and put the AMG badge.
If i did then i guess i would have to have a really big problem with BMW. They came out with the 330 ZHP that had the ///M badge on the wheels, steering wheel, and shift konb. Now did anyone come out and bash BMW? No...the MB dealers are doing the same thing. Like Ghostrider said, it's all how you look at it.

 

There's a guy in my town that drives a Lexus with a big VW badge in the middle of the grill. It does get some chuckles from those in the know.

 

I dont have a problem with someone putting an amg on a amg package car. But when you buy an e350 and change the sign to e63 amg, you are a complete moron.

well, actually, putting an AMG badge on a car that has the AMG suspension, aerodynamics (i hate to call it body kit), AMG wheels, AMG exhaust etc etc is not as bad as a Civic i saw with a Nismo GTR emblem on it.

No old man here is mad becuase he think a chipped 335 can somehow outdue a M. And i joined this forum becuase i plan on pickin up a C63 and my previous car was a CLK 500 (with the AMG kit ). BTW read post #40 buddy.
