Evotech Pulley, ECU, RT Shorties mods

Dyno #1 was a baseline dyno. Dyno #3 was after the mods. Dyno #5 was with mods but with further ECU fine tuning. Temps in the Bay Area were in the low to mid 80s during the 5th dyno. Temps were in the low 90s during the 3rd dyno. I think the dyno were run in 4th gear.

Adam (through the magic of Oliver) will be doing more fine tuning on the ECU to eek out more HP.

I do have a couple of questions:

On the 5th dyno, the HP increased by 25 RWHP but the RWTQ by only 3 lbs??? What's up with that?

How much of a difference will the 10 degrees of temps affect the stats?

Also, I noticed that air flow (read small fans to cool/feed intakes) probably did not help. I was expecting more gains with these mods.

What do you all think?

Chromikey - What do you think about the RWTQ increase? Especially the increase between the 3rd and the 5th runs?

1989 Toyota Tercel EZ - dyno'd @ 70whp/77wtq
Regardless almost no increase in wtq, your car has bigger area under the curve in high RPM just by ECU tuning giving constant gains over stock in any RPM. I think it's quite impressive.

Any comment on the Air/Fuel Ratio? Does it look fine?

Thanks! I'm having trouble getting and keeping grip on my POS Contis. Adam and crew does well.

To be honest, I'll take HP over TQ even when stock, as I just spin and spin in 1st and 2nd. I'll be happy to get 25 HP after I get my ECU flashed to work with ASP and K&Ns.

Likewise here. I'd trade 25lbs RWTQ for 25 RWHP. Anyway to do that?

My baseline HP was low to begin with. TQ was on the high side stock.

an overall 60+ rwtq increase is great. imho, the reason you see better hp gains with fine tuning is because our ecu's start over compensating in the upper rpm's, which is the area requiring the majority of tuning. you'll notice that the tuning has helped flatten/maintain your tq curve as the rpms increase which is great for hp, but it's in the rpm range that tq is already past peak. basically the upper rpms is where our cars concentrate on hp rather than tq, so it stands to reason that you'll get the results you've shown...results that 'd be quite happy with!

Just to help, (Torque X RPM)/5252=Horsepower
So at any given RPM, more torque will net more horsepower.
Torque is one component of Horsepower.

Here is a link that explains quite well.

Like said, nice gains. However, you are still running pig rich after 4,800 rpm.
Also, it looks like only the first run was done in 4th gear. Third and fifth runs were done in 3rd??

Unless hes got the speed limit removed, he wont be able to run to redline at 4th gear.

You meant the speed limit at 155mph?
By how the 1st run ended short, I assumed that he hit the speed limiter.

possibly

That could be it too. Sounds like a much more plausible. I do know that sometimes they will push out the rev limiter as well a bit.
