I purchased a "winter beater" today *PICS*
so with some thought i bought a 2000 Audi S4 AWD for the winter.
not too much $$ and with under 70k its got a winter left in it.
I do not know much about the cars mods or history... Supersprint exhaust, RS4 brakes, RS4 bumper, Coil overs, and 18" wheels
car is not in mint condition so i do not feel bad about beating up all winter!
Not bad for a snow car huh?

Awesome beater..... now, put AWE stage 3 (I think around $8K + install ) and it could make circles on your stock E55.... LOL
Contact Evil Empire in this forum.... he has a wicked fast S4.

find out if the ecu has been changed otherwise get on the phone with MTM or Neuspeed is the best bang for buck. Also if you are the 3rd owner find out if the turbos have been swapped for K04's

I dont think you will ever be stranded in the snow... and even if you are the rescue teams will find you pretty quickly!

I saw a decent looking S4 the other day for 9.5K that was very clean and modded. I couldn't afford 2 older german cars as my MB keeps me plenty busy with mods and repairs I can barely find time to do stuff on my C43 let alone another uberrocket.
I really wish preowned STI's were less money as beating on a 4wd subbie during the winter seems right and I would never feel bad.
besides, why on earth would I want to get rid of my AWD explorer sport that shuts itself off when I slam down the parking brake, or the one that has all four tires screaming when taking turns at 15mph or faster.

Its funny, my friend has a 2000 S4, except he is looking to keep it as his street race/weekend car and buy a beater for the winter lol. He is going to do the full K04 treatment to it. I know a bunch of guys around here with seriously fast S4's. EvilEmpire's advant is badass, it don't play around (though it won't "ring circles" against a properly modded E55).

congrats on the new beater I have the same car but its a 2001 Audi S4 STG.2 TIP trans. If plan on driving in the snow I would get some stock S4 wheels with winter tires...and raise the up the car a llittle.

Nice man. I love my S4. I'm Stage II with a GIAC chip but have plans to go Stage III next year. Just keep up on maintenance and the thing will be solid. Now if I could just afford an E55 to go along with the S4

Thanks guys. I have never been a big fan of the b6 and b7 S4 but always loved the old B5 turbo! its a blast to drive, and slow enough so i will not get in trouble!
