Hard part IMHO is that there really is NO video of the actual guys driving the car. Lots of shots straight ahead and you hear quick snips of voice, but no vid of the guy behind the wheel. They could easily say, "Sure I was standing next to the car in the Vid. Who wouldn't! Just wasn't me driving"
Aside from releasing their names etc, unless they turn on each other, bet they won't be able to convict.
Perhaps owner liable??

Probably suspend his license for 1 year....Shishh that's enough torture already, I haven't driven in 2 weeks and I am going through hell...Picture one year. I might have to scoop something and Mod the hell out of it until the 65 gets here.

It depends... how many gold Murcielagos are registered in his state... Hopefully they didnt have any incriminating details on the video... The guy doing the talking at the end that was standing beside the car shouldnt have put himself in the video.. He will probably get "talked to".

When I saw that video the first time I was thinking why on earth would they post this on the net. In the UK a driver was jailed for a year after he did the same sort of movie with a F40.
I think the drivers should get jail time and not Paris Hilton jail time too. I love fast cars but doing repeated runs back and forth for what likely was more than an hour is insane. They passed cars at speed several times (as shown in the video i saw last week) and thats just plain crazy.
I really dont think people have very much common sense these days. Its dumb enough to do that but how stupid are you to post it for the police to view.

The local news in Phoenix went to the local Lambo dealer. And the owners details( i.e. name, address and business ) was given out to the reporter.
In AZ their are only two gold LP 640's. The one in the vid has Neveda plates and was bought in Vegas. The owner IF they can charge him it will be a class 6 felony. Just depends IF they want to make a big deal out of it.

The news got involved so someone in the clerk of courts with political aspirations is probably licking their chops.

When did they take down there website? www.205mph.com seems to have allthe content locked down. I hope they did it to protect themselves and because that are in trouble.
It also seems like people do not understand how open the states in the west and be and always think we go fast in those little states that are full of traffic. Since I moved to Texas about 10 years ago I have spent more time over 100 then I ever got to spend over 80 in Ohio in the 16 years I driving I had there.
I wish these guys luck and I like the way the did this with spotters and by avoiding traffic! Too often I see guys hammering through traffic around here and I never get to play if they do that!

IP Address on the download will pipoint the owner (or at least who posted the video).
It depends on how much proof they have to ID the driver.
Surprised this does not happen more often.
The dealer had no right telling the media who owned the car (if the other post is right). The cops would be another story...

Criminally, you would need to have intent + an overt act, so if you can't even prove your defendant was driving the car then you don't have either. No way they could bust the owner just because it was his car.
All that said, I think they will be able to bust the actual driver via voice analysis. The state will get a couple experts in who will testify to the vocal patterns matching and they will get a conviction. The camera operator will also be charged and probably convicted as an accomplice.

Out Of Control!!
Owner would be civilly liable if there had been an accident, but there wasn't.

They will figure out who the guy standing at the gas station is, or figure out who the camera guy is, and get them to turn on the driver.
That guy can kiss his license goodbye for a long time, and will prolly see some jail time also.

Reminds me of a little tune I once heard.....
"I fought the law and the.. law won, I fought the law and the.. law won!"
Ratts are everywere!

Latest info is that the owner is an ex-dentist that now runs a **** site.
Could this get any more bizarre?
