I had a great time meeting everyone at the event. Adam is very nice to meet you a talk for a while.
Being the first time in 20 years to run a 1/4 mile I found it fun and different. Not much traction out there Saturday. With my poor quality tires in the rear it made it even worse. C55Project-I did my best to do a good job for the C43/55 croud. My best time was a 13.212 at 109.563 mph. But my 60ft times were never better than 2.45 sec. Maybe with a lot less camber in the rear and some R compound tires and getting my LSD back in the car I could see some 12's.
Next time
Jeff

great day ... horrible track prep. I was sliding everywhere starting in 2nd gear.
Finally they did put VHT down on one lane. I did get one decent run.
BUT I had no idea it was that sticky. So I had started in 1st but was feathering the throttle and should of just stomped on it.
That run produced a 12.2 at 118.5.
I also lost a freaking lugnut so my day ended.

First timer also w/ this car....
Track was ugly.... even experienced driver, like Tony , couldn't get traction. He couldn't even move the car.... I'm guessing he lost close at least 0.5 sec. in the 1st 10 ft. He also said my S/C cut off right before 1/4 line.
I did the 2nd run right after that.... w/ IAT @ 100 & coolant temp at 205 , 1st gear was almost impossible to manage... feather it = ESP kicked in... let go.... feather it again = ESP kicked in.... seems like you couldn't floor your gas even after the car has moved.... this happened at least until 70-80
What also stunned me was E63's 030 LSD didn't seem to help much on this track
All in all, a disappointing day for me (and particularly Tony).... I guess my biggest enemies were traction and heat.... (like we all E55'ers do not know yet ). So next mod would be cooling for sure...

LOL,
John,
You would have been pissed, at one point tears were about to fall.
On my 13.2@115 my 60 ft was 2.5X
On my 12.47@115 my 60 ft was 2.05
I busted off a 15.0@112 with a 2.8X 60ft, talk about depressing, then it SNOWED , they closed the 5 and I almost was killed by a Gang in Arvin. Wheres Arvin? Good question.. its a town that one runs into when trying to find a way around the grapevine....Im home it was great , but wish we had more time!

Somebody needs to contact the track and ask if we can actually garauntee some VHT and good track prep. Otherwise, it is a waste. All the nice altitude and weather conditions will be offset by 0 traction

It was awesome meeting all you guys that I didn't already know, and thanks for the compliments on the car. On the 12.2 runs, i had AWESOME traction and for one of those 12.2 runs I ran up against the m5 when he got a 12.57ish, that was an awesome feeling indeed.
Great group of enthusiast, im glad I brought all the ice bags!

Yo D,
Your car is Hella quick and it is the fastest West Coast runner, you need to change yer wheels next time and try to bust off a sub 12 second pass.
Your times are amazing and hopefully our race will make it up as it was super fun, AMAZING driving for your 1st time.
E55 is a natural born killer........M5 race , i did not see all yer runs cause I spent half the day with my head in my hands wonder wtf I could do to get traction.
Great meeting you see ya next time

Jeez, on a day when E55's with BFG's could not hit 1.8X 60ft a stock E55 does it on 20's?????????????????????????????????????????????? ?
Holy shiiet , this is super interesting to say the least.
Your 1/8th mile is blistering, and trap is in line with the M5 and My 63 , then something flattens out(pump) SC? I dunno, what do you guys think??
His car was doing 12.20's but trapping afew mph lower than the 63's and M5, yet he destroys the ET's.
Thanks for the timeslip, great stuff .
EDIT: UURFANTASY
I just did the math on our run and you had a Margin of Victory of .009 That is UNBELEIVABLE nearly a photo required..
You jump out to a whopping .036 lead, then I erase that and actually ET .029 quicker. You crossed the line 9/1000ths of a second sooner!!!!!!!!

I had lot of fun Yesterday! Thank you so much to everyone there was there!
This is my first time running any car on a Drag Strip, I have been out in circle tracks with other cars before. My fastest 1/4 time was 12.520 ET and MPH was 115.133. I ran total of 7 runs the ET's are from 12.5-12.7 of the total 7 runs.
My car is stock with just the 19 inch wheels on it.
Adam: Thank you for getting this all together and You were very friendly!
Jaicee63: I love your flag!!!

Sucks I couldn't make it. Kids and wife were too sick. Too bad you lost a lug bolt too.
Anyways, regarding the SLK transmission. In preperation for the event, I did some trial runs at a nearby construction area. In C mode, the car does start in 2nd gear. However, if you floor it or get aggressive at all, the car will downshift into 1st. I tried it several times and got the same result. I've got to believe your car does the same.
Try this: Put it in S mode, downshift to 1st and take the car to redline. I get to about 30mph. Next, place in C mode, downshift to 2nd and stomp the pedal. Do you downshift? At first, I thought I was staying in 2nd gear. Then I realized my car was upshifting at 30mph and that's when I realized what was happening. I'm curious to hear your results.

Looked like a sweet event guys! Can't wait till spring on this coast, looking out the window at snow. Nice runs, nice fastest run, Juice.
Those E55's are quick. Watched the vid and watched the earlier vid. Man, some of the comments on the earlier vid (at the bottom, not on the vid) are idiotic.

Guys as usual it was a blast, great meeting everyone. Juice congrats bro on your time, glad to see you again. I was very disappointed in my results, best I did was a 12.7 @ 112. I ran in the left lane all day maybe I should have tried the right. I"m 100% stock other then some K&N's. Let just say goodbye to the Conti's next race will be with better tires and lighter wheels and maybe a few other little mods
