SAC Raceway rental for Jan/Feb 2008
OK GUYS! I need to know how many are committed to renting Sac Raceway on Jan/Feb 2008. Jennifer needs to know how many are actually interested so she can properly quote me on the price of the rental.

Track conditions will likely be sub-optimal in January/February (slippery track from poor prep). I'd recommend something after May when there's more heat in the track. Could rent it with BMW and Porsche groups to share the costs while keeping it relatively exclusive.

In May or June, the track may be too hot or too busy (for a rental) as we experienced last year. We don't want to offset the good altitude with bad DA. Lets do one in January, but have good track prep even if we have to pay a little extra, I think it'll still be worth it California Speedway in Fontana provides so much VHT and best track prep I've seen so far, but it just gets bad DA all the time there.

Sac only has had good prep 1 time and it was only 1 lane and i didnt have my car. but jackpro was there and he put down some 11.4 or 11.5s dont remember but i do remember he had to be in the right lane or the run wasnt as good. me personaly i have to have traction control on and roll into the gas or ill spin. I will gladly donate the extra cash for track prep!

Left lane was a little more slippery than right lane, but my best results were on the left as well as one of the 55s and the M5.......... I think this is mainly because everybody was piling up on the right

Rockets right. Not sure what they did that night I ran, but my car hooked like a monster.
RogerV laid down a near 10sec run there too on another time. Then the mighty Treynor has also slayed at that track on several times.
Honestly, seems like they have just been cutting corners lately on prep. Most likely, "It's off season, who cares mentality" If we squeak the wheel a couple of times, I bet Jen could get Tony to lay down some simple prep and some VHT.
Seriously, let's at least offer a few bucks to have them do some prep.
Make sure to let them know that we are not looking for constant care. Just run the rake (whatever it's called) over the track and spray her once with some VHT. Then the guys can take off and go home.
I really like Sacto because of the sea level issue. With good track prep and cool weather, you can lay down times very similar to E Town on that bad boy. Just my 2cents.
Famoso would be great, but there would always be "well it would have been X amount better at sea level"
I would be willing to take a whack at Famoso though.

By the way, last night Famoso had -500 DA (which offsets the 600 ft track elevation)

I race at Infineon all the time (even have a shop there). The track prep is almost always far better than sac. These guys host the big dogs from the NHRA and know how to prep a track. They follow the same NHRA rules as sac so there shouldn't be any rules issues.
Most of the year they have Wednesday night fun drags. They also have weekend races (usually Sunday) for their points championship. The racing there is always eliminations and not test n tunes. You'll typically get in two or three timed runs in the morning followed by eliminations in the afternoon. Fewer runs than a TnT at Sac, but this is racing...
Weekend races are Jan 1, 5 and 26, March 22, May 26, June 7 & 8 (7th is Mopar day - come see the Dodge carry the wheels...). There's more, but they'll be posted on the web site soon and you can see for yourself.
If you decide not to drink yourself into oblivion New Years Eve, come on out and race...

Hmmmmm........ Infineon does seem like a well-prepped track, and seems that DA there is good as well. So it should be a tossup between this and Sacramento (assuming Sacramento does provide some kind of decent track prep).
So you say, they have races every Wednesday and Sunday?

Adam, I won't be coming this weekend....
As for this event, it depends on the date.... plus I was disappointed w/ myself and my car during last event.... heat soak cutting S/C on 1st run of the day and after cooling down the car for almost 2 hours is really disappointing.... looking at my trap speed (around 111-113), I think the S/C may have been cut off before the finish line on all my runs
So I plan to get your cooling mods or at least upgrade the pump before any other performance upgrade... some time in Feb/March most likely.... so be sure to have a promo during that time period

Infineon Wednesday nights are almost every week starting in March or so. Weekend races are probably 8 times a year. Wednesday nights get lots more runs, but the track sometimes goes away when temps drop below 55 degrees or so after sunset...
