wait
Still gonna wait a couple years for the hype to die down and also the Vspec version to be released.
I've bought my last first year of a model car. NEVER again no matter how tempting!

quoted for truth. my dad was looking for a car when the M6 just came out. price tag was 106...he fell in love then dealer added 30k to the car. thats when you scoff, and walk away.

...that's when you ask the dealer for some lube so it'll go in easier when you get bent over...

2010 RRS ; BMW K1200R; 14 E350 ; 14 RRS on order
How in the world is a V6 putting down 470+ HP?
And for the love of god could they have not made it a little less ugly?
I have to say though, these are the most remarkable numbers I have ever seen out of a production car for less that $100K (even more than), we'll have to wait and see what the 2nd and 3rd genration do. Cops are gonna love these things on the street.
I suspect there will be more that one of the with some variation of the license plate "AMGEATER" or "M-EATER" or whatever...

+1...that is why I'm waiting for next year to look for a 06SL65...new body style coming i believe in 08 or 09 (?)...more depreciation...boom...a 65 monster convertible for $80-90K.
PS Keeping the E55 though...just waiting for the VRP twin turbo.

wait and see what the 2nd or 3rd generation do??? the r35 will be the 11th generation skyline so there's no need to wait for anything since the gt-r's capabilities and heritage are already more than well proven.

Very impressive... what is quite interesting is how close the engine specs are to the 997TT... look at the engine details. But a massive bargain.
Have to say the Porsche pedigree probably wins me over, but not sure the premium charged at the moment is 100% warranted. P-car owners are no doubt wondering about this car as a viable alternative with a bundle of cash for some mods - or even a run around...
The main thing it has going for it is the front mount engine. The handling dynamics are more familiar than the rear engine P-car layout - which does take a little getting used to. Even the N-ring time is faster than the P-car, which is a massive achievement in Porsche's back yard.
I actually like the styling - maybe even more than the Porsche's wierd angled fairings on the bumpers etc... I would have preferred the P to have more polished lines. In terms of build quality think Porsche should have it beat - even if it is only by materials used.
The thing is if they were both in the parking lot and some one said to me pick one to take home as a keeper ... I would still take the P-car.

I hate to say it but I would still rather buy a ZO6. They look better imho and for the cost of a happy meal and fries will make 650 to 680 rwhp.
My only problem is that I have gotten use to having both speed and luxury so the next logical step would have to be a v12 tt.

Also, I would not at all be surprised if these test cars are a bit "special". Like the early 90's Toyota Supra test car that was running extra boost to impress the press.
When it comes out and hits the strip, we'll see what it really has. Having said that - I love it and will probably own one in three years.

It's definitely putting down a lot more than 470 hp. No way a 3800 lb car puts down these kind of numbers unless its running north of 500 hp. I'll guess once owners dyno these cars, they're running over 500 hp crank.
These basic V6 engines (think previous Nissan Skyline, or even Toyota Supras) have been tuned to produce over 800 hp. Rumor is that Nissan is taking some extraordinary steps to try and prevent aftermarket tuners from modifying the ECU.
