Hmmm, 150ish and you could feel it hit a brick wall and neither of our cars were going anywhere any faster.

Something is off, then. Even befre the tune, my car pulled all the way to 160. ALWAYS.

Are you sure you got the same flash that is on my car? Mine blasts past 150 in full force.

Modding a car is not always the easiest thing and things can go wrong at times. The key is how your tuner treats you, your car, and the situation. I was ready to do pulley, TB, headers all at once, but wanted to give Vadim the platform to do his thing. It may take me a bit longer to get the right mods on the car, but in the end it will be a much more refined tune than if I had done it myself.
I Like the Darkness!
By Giving Vadim and Powerchip the Platform to Achieve a More Refine Tune, You're Reaping in the Benefits because You're Not Rushing Perfection. Excellent!
Yeah, I'm Throwing All of My Mods on them at Once, but I Understand the Situation and I have Patience for Vadim and Powerchip to Create My Perfect Tune.

It should have been. Maybe I got the wrong file or it didn't take? Vadim would know I suppose. All I know is once I got into the 150s I wasn't able to go any faster. I know my speedo reads a little slow, at 80 on the digital readout the analog speedo shows 78ish.

I'd let Vadim look through the data. Not being able to go past the limiter is not a good sign. What RPMs does it wind up to when going WOT through the gears? Mine snaps all the way up to just past 6500, and it is screaming crazy past 3k.

Well I can confirm there is definatly the stock speed limiter on my car. Just got back from the dyno and tried to do a 4th gear pull but kept hitting the speed limiter at a little past 5500rpm. We had to do 3rd gear pulls. It'll run up to 6500 rpm like it always does.

Anyway, to the dyno.
First run was bad, was spinning on the dyno. They had to spray my tires with vht. 432.4 HP/504.5 TQ

Run 2 432.8 HP/516.4 TQ (might have had similar HP to 3 but there's a gap in the graph right where peak HP would be???)
Run 3 441.4 HP/513.5 TQ

2nd run isolated in case anyone cares.

I'll make a run to mexico tonight and see what I see, just to be sure. But, I am almost positive that I saw some good numbers the last time out.
The 4th gear dyno is pretty telling. I'd follow up to see if that is the intended tune.

Well what I did see of the 4th gear pull had 444.x HP on it before it hit the limiter if I recall correctly. It's definatly there though, I watched it and the operater was asking me if there was a way to turn it off.

LOL!! I am following you around. Yes, they will work BUT you have an advantage (80mm TB) that the '06 and prior kompressors don't. Yours would like the pulley, I'd think.

The gap is because It lost the tach signal, had they changed the x-axis on the bottom to mph that gap would be gone. If you look closely run 2 was going to be a good pull until something killed power-dip in purple line. You should send the ecu back to get re-flashed to make sure everything is okay imo.
Thanks for posting the graph. You can also take a small usb jump drive with you and save the actual run file at the shop. That way you can use the free dynojet-winpep viewer to view your runs and be able to get more detailed information.

There is definitely something up with this tune. Not only you are hitting the speed limiter but your AFRs are not where they should be. Send the ECU back and make sure you have the right flash. Your AFRs in past 4000rpm should not be dipping below 11.5:1.

OT

The SLR style intercoolers are not part of this package or my future planes.

Yes, they go for $500,000. Unfortunately they come with a SLR attached to them.

Just cause you gotta cool attitude, I'll tell. VRP has a setup that they are developing on a gorgeous black on black SL65. There are pics in the 1000hp thread.

Robert,

It looks like your car is making good power.. We will look into the top speed limiter.. They may have forgotten to remove it since it is an optional item when ordering regular PC tunes so when they flashed the VRP tune on there it may have been skipped. The A/F seems a bit richer than what Jangy's car was showing but that could be a variance in the equipment used.. Just to be safe, I'll send a copy of the graph to PC and get their opinion on the flash.

We slowed down a bit on that project once we got the quote from the company that was going to make the casts for us.. We are still working on it, but it was on the back-burner for a while so we could get some other priorities taken care of.

Ok guys, the ECU is pulled out and ready to ship back to CA to get a fresh flash w/limiter removed.

Also the other day I found out my belt wasn't on all the way and was hanging off the back of the pulley, got that fixed.

Stock paper filters are on their way out and a set of BMCs are on the way in.

Once I get it all back together with some miles on it I'll have a new dyno done. Hopefully we'll see something good.

Good luck with it!! Tuning can take some time and you aren't the only one that had the limiter stay. Hopefully, a re-flash will be just what you need.

Jangy, Is your TB done?
When do we see some results at the track?

TB is on. I am going to grab it and put some miles on while the Airbox is being modified. Headers will be test fit next week and we'll see from there.

I'm ready, fready. Even for maybe an 1/8th one? Anyone down?

You'll finally see why I've been raving about this 80mm TB all this time once you drive your car.. You'll notice how much more crisp and snappy the throttle response is and how much better it pulls on the freeway.. Your drive back to SD should be even more fun!!!!

Let me know how you like it!
