First mod right after I drove out of the dealership. Free horsepower. Noticeable improvement.

AMG E55, Stage 1, Strait Pipe from Primary Cats
Well, I just bought my 04 E55 yesterday and it was between the M5 and the E55 for me. The E55 just had the raw power that I was craving and was way less $, which was a bonus for me. Go and drive the E55 and it will be all over.

MB, BMW
when i was watching the NY Giants play in the SB, i thought of this analogy:

E55 AMG = Brandon Jacobs, big, FAT kid who can run stupid fast in a straight line and run people over

335i = Ahmad Bradshaw, small, nimble kid who can dodge & weave

Damn, what a nice position to be in. 19 and debating between an E55 and 335i.

I was in Korea when I was 19 and was driving around in a hyundai grandeur XG. haha

edit: oh yeah...haha... I'd get the 335i and get an E when you've hit mid-late 20's.

Im 22. I've had a trans am, Infiniti I30, Infiniti G35 coupe, now I have a 08 G35x and my dad gave me the option to choose a car ne car i wanted. I had the same exact option as you. All my friend's have 335i's, THEY ARE EVERYWHERE, yes i love them and yes you can hook them up to be as fast as a E55 but u can also make a honda accord as fast as a E55 but my fully loaded to the core E55 with only 19,000k miles is superfast and is head turning. The E55 was $52,000. I say go for the E55!

Whats your opinion? Oh, and I'm 19 and it would be my daily driver.
To make a comparison to, let's say, wrist watches, getting the 335 is like getting a "new Omega" and getting the E55 is like getting a "used Rolex." While some Omegas are very nice, they just aren't in the same league as a Rolex...

This thread is still going!? I already posted, but I'll say it again, I decided to get something totally different, a 2008 c350. I'd figure it wouldn't get me in trouble like the amg/335i would and I'm paying for it myself. So for that douche that said mommy and daddy are paying for it,

If you were some kid who doesnt go to school and had no future, I'd agree with the other poster. However, you said you're going to school, potentially taking over the family business. I really dont see the problem. Doesnt matter what the other guy said, nice car.

I think you should trade in the c350 for an e55. Otherwise, I made that whole "wrist watch analogy" for nothing! Jk

Glad you got your ride. Did you get the bodykit and all that jazz? You should post some pics!

In a couple of years I'll trade it in for the E63

I'll post some pictures soon, I got the saks fifth ave. edition so it came with the amg bumpers/wheels. Its no Amg by any means, but I love it.

I have both (e63 though).
335 is my wife, it makes a perfect chicks car. lack of juice to be consider performance.

basically 335 is pretty quick from 0-60, but after that, it is a pig. you will cry if you step on it after 70mph.
335 cornering is pretty good and thats about it. (E63 is good too just 335 is stiffer)

but if you are only 19, get the 335. E55 doesn't really fit you.

and 335 isn't shouldn't really compare to a E55, totally difference level.

2006 e55 amg
i had the same choice.. very tough decision.. got the 55 and couldnt be happier with the choice.. the cars an unstoppable beast... the looks i get while driving are fun... burned a maserati today... u own the road with this car... drove that c350, wasnt impressed at alll... the 335 handles wayyyyyy better.... if u were gona get that car, should have just gone with the 335... my opinion...

I love how we're all still debating this even tho he has already gotten his car... lol.. its like, forget about mbrover or whatever his name is... people just want to get their 2 cents out there... lol. E55 all the way!! I live in LA and drives that used to be 20 mins and hell are now 7 mins and fun! airmatic suspension forgetaboutit! sick.

My friend, you need a trip to Dinan with that 335i. I have my 135i all modded up and I enjoy playing with it as much as the E55. It is not quite as fast as the E55 but will lay rubber in 1st, 2nd, and part of 3rd gear and does not slow after 70 at all.

05' E55 AMG
remember that you can never downgrade...if you get the E55, you can never go back to a BMW, but if you get the BMW you can always upgrade to an E55 (or maybe something better which im sure in two years the economy will permit) my lil bro has a 335 with downpipes, secondary cat delete, full intake, and a chip. His car runs really fast and keeps up with, or beats most cars that kids his age are driving (he's 17)

hey
How well is the e55 amg in the snow? Would it be able to get through 1-5 in without a problem with snow tires? Or will it have difficulty?
Anyone who has tried please let me know asap. I am about to buy a e55 amg, and i may need it once and a while in the snow...
Thanks
