Conti VS PS2, how much better?

I have conti on my e63 right now, will it be better if I change to PS2? (traction). I used to love bridgestone S-03 but those darm thing will need replacment per 10kmiles =D

So will the PS2s and the Contis

I would stick to PS2s, they are definately best for traction

I had conti's, now I have PS2's.

Quiet, great grip, awesome tires.

Definitely go for PS2's

PS2's are amazing and the Bridgestone Pole Position 050's are the next best choice imo.

I had conti's and then thanks to this forum I purchased ps'2. I only have ~1,400 miles on them so far but the basically do not slip and are stickier than bazooka gum on a 90 degree day.

Run and get the PS's, do not walk.

P.S. With new tires on, I killed a guy in a brand new 4S Porsche, he looked like he was hit by a brick afterwards.

PS2's are stickier but you give up ride quality over the conti 2's. Have tried everything with mine to simulate the comfort of the conti's and have been unsuccessful. Maybe I just got a bad batch...

Switched to the PS2s a month ago and wonder what took me so long. Much quieter, smoother and grippy than the Conti's. Expect to replace the rears twice a year and the fronts once a year. About the same as any high quality tire including the Conti's.

I tend to run on the high end of the psi, on my PS2s; trying for better gas mileage, and I do not notice degrading in traction;

the placard psi numbers suggest higher psi for over 100mph, which....um....I hit quite often, so I psi my tires based on the over-100 mph: front: 40'ish, rear: 42'ish

been very happy with my PS2s, but cringe at the nearing replacement cost

what about this: pirelli zero/nero? I had them on my relatively tame E500 and they were great; thoughts?

thnx guys

I have PS2's on my M5 right now, I switched from the stock Conti's as soon as I got done burning them out. Ps2's are worlds better, sensational in dry weather and just as good in the wet. Also, the 100+mph performance is greatly improved, and that's a place I go on my way to the bagel store.

I'm thinking about getting a set this week. My PS2's on the rear are a hair under 3/32nds while the fronts are still at 7/32nds tread. With the really cold weather just around the corner the PZero Nero M+S tires looked good. Then again, maybe I'll just keep the car in the garage drive the Suburban to work.

No, the front and rear PS2s should not be the same psi: they are different size tires, doing different things; take a look at the gas cap placard, and the placard inside the driver door: you should see different psi recommendations for front and rear

thnx

I mean for conti should be same PSI like when using PS2 right? 40psi front 42 rear.

Sorry 'bout that; I misunderstood;

Yes, I would suggest the same psi, but confirm by checking the conti sidewalls for "max psi"; but I would bet they are fine at the same psi

thnx

crash

I went from conti -> PS2 and then I crashed... They worked great... but I think they are bad luck! only kidding, I was driven to make this choice, I put less then 100miles on the PS2s... maybe less then 50! so I have no idea

I have the Bridgestone S-03 Pole Positions on my E55, and PS2's on my Porsche 997S. The are close, but the PS2's offer a little more grip.

Wow for real?? S03 lasted 12k miles on my 540 but PS2 on my RS4 was at 23k and still don;t need replacment any soon. I was assuming S03 have better traction. But good to find out PS2 better than S03 =)

I believe the Pole Position 050's are a newer version than the S03's (had those and they flat spotted like crazy) and an even better tire

Ouch, that looks bad...... You would think there is some sort of inspection and certification before such high reputation tires are sent out
