E55K Engine in a W208 CLK?

E55K Engine in a W208 CLK?
I am considering dropping engine/trans/ECU from a 03 E55 into my CLK430. Will everything bolt up and work or is this a project that will take alot of work and I should reconsider?

Maybe I should rephrase my question, is it possible without spending tons of $$$? I'm assuming I would need the TCU as well. I want to do it really badly, just scared of dropping $$$ for all the E55 stuff and then not have it work. Theoretically it is the same block so it should fit right?

I am learning more and more the Benz ECU is Satan himself. Just near impossible to make that kinda swap without oil sheik kinda bucks.
Really sucks too. My dream is the TTS600 12 in our cars with ECU/TCU mod.
Could run mid 10's all day long.

I know Evotech brought up an engine swap before when I wanted more power.
Pretty much said not much more to do other than swapping to a E55K motor.
My guess is Oliver has done this work before and I'm sure some of the other reputable mod shops have as well.
I think the bigger question is how to get the power to the ground ...
Btw hes talking pre 2006 so the ecu/tcu/etc should be a lot easier to get working together.

Talk to Sunil, he is putting m113 Kompressor motor in W203, so CLK should be the same.
I have a client locally who also wants to do it, but I have not taken a deep look into all of the logistics of making it happen.

Just buy a Kleemann kit and put it on the 4.3L motor.
To put that Kompressor motor in your clk430 will be alot of work and expensive including the price of the motor and transmission.

and lets not forget SLR engin has been put in a SLK/G/E class and brabus has placed a V12 in a C/E class so its possible... its the know how thats the problem

I mildly modded 55K drivetrain would be awesome in a CLK. It will be quite a bit of work but can be done.
I would not go Kleemann. I have driven several Kleemann converted cars and none of them have the explosive power of the factory blown AMG motors, especially on the low end.
My opinions are based on driving an '02 CLK430K or 500K, an '03 E500K, and a 2002 E55K. The E55K was supposed to have big power and an '03 E55 would clobber it. The blown CLK got clobbered by my C32 and SLK32 despite the fact that it was producing far more claimed power.

after a while he will want to mod the motor...when a 600TT motor with just ECU will be more then u would ever want

Only problem is tuning, a company out in Cali said he can do it with piggyback tuning and a local guy said he can do it with stand alone engine management. We will see, I am going to pick up the check for my S4 right now so I have some money to play with.

That's what I was thinking too. Boost the crap out of the current motor and you will have all the power you need. If it blows, no big deal because you were going to swap motors anyway. When/if it blows, use a 211 E55 motor sans supercharger and adapt your twin turbo system to the new motor.

Yup, me too. If this 55k motor turns out to be too much work, twin turboing the 55 will be the direction I take. I am waiting for vrus and Vadim to come out with their turbo kit but if it takes too long I'm going custom I have been doing quite a bit of research into this. With the upgraded GM 4.3L V6 even better

I've been trying to figure out why the swap wouldnt work but cant figure it out. Arent both the engine and trans externally the same as a CLK55? SO it should bolt up. If I take the ECU/TCU out of a E55 then why wouldnt it work? I am really confused Can someone please clarify this for me? Thanks
I wont turbo the 430 motor. If anything I would sell the kleemann stuff off the 55 and turbo that. Might as well go all out.
