They say the surgery went well, and he's aparently instructed to rest on the "couch" a lot, and take it easy, but that maybe difficult for Johnny to do
Also, I heard he will start physical therapy soon.

John, I hope you get better quick bro, we need you

Hi everyone,

This is Mrs. Jrocket, Nichole and John wants to say Thanks for everyone's kind words. He is still unable to type but I am reading to him the threads and all his PM's. He hopes to be back on the boards real soon!!!

John is still in a great deal of pain and has a long recovery ahead of him. He is in good spirits although, he tends to get quite bored laying on the couch.

As for the details...
John was hit by a drunk driver as he was crossing the street by our house. The driver went into the oncoming traffic lane and blew through the 4 way stop sign at 40 miles an hour, taking John with him. John crashed through the windshield and front right fender of the car. John sustained a broken neck, broken left leg (both bones), compressed vertebrae, concussion and major road rash.

He was in surgical ICU for 4 days. In traction for 2 of those days. He has had neck surgery to remove/replace c-6 & 7 and had them fused together. He also had torn ligaments that were repaired. He has a full leg cast on his left leg, the fib broke in 1/2 and the tib is split right down the middle where it meets the knee. His compressed vertebrae is giving him probably the worst amount of pain. There isnt anything they can do for that. Just time and good meds!

Have no fear, once John gets the feeling in his forearms and hands he will be back in full force!

As for the driver of the vehicle. He is still in custody and unable to post bail. He has no license, no insurance, currently on probation for another matter and the car he was driving wasnt his. They are charging him with 2 counts of felony and 2 counts of misdemeanor. We will keep you posted with all the details...It should get very interesting!!!

Have good night and I will send another update soon!

Send him our best wishes please, we all miss him and wish for a speedy recovery.

I speak for many of us when I say I wish they'd give me five minutes in a room with the driver of that car and a set of power tools. I'd make Hostel look like Casablanca.

Mrs Jrocket: Tell Johnny that we all miss him and are wishing him a speedy recovery! Tell him that I got my money back from DoctorMax on that little scheme the good doctor concocted about the warehouse burning down. I really appreciate Johnny's support on that! Tell him I'll buy you and him dinner when he's ready!

Best wishes and a speed recovery!!

I hope that drunk fool NEVER get out of jail because I'm sure if he does, he'll hurt someone else

Mrs JRocket: please tell John that I prayed for him today, and that I actually felt pain just reading your description of all the injuries, so I can't even imagine how bad it really is for John right now...... but that is just one more proof on how tough Johnny really is. I'm sure that with your help, he'll recover soon from this event and will come back full force......

On a side note: can you also tell him that I ran a 12.35 @ 113.6 in my E63 at Fontana today, which I think puts me at 2nd fastest stock E63 so far

Thanks........

OMG I can't believe this... Talk about injustice!

John you are very brave. I wish & pray for you complete and speedy recovery.

This person should be executed. I know you are not thinking of this now... But you must be compinsated... He has no insurance, and probably doesn't have a dime either. I don't know how the law works there, but maybe the person who owns the car's insurance would be liable? In anycase I would contact a lawyer ASAP.

Get Well, and God's Speed.
