Was thinking of changing the color of my stockers. What do you guys think paint or powdercoat? + and - to both.

Good question, I just spoke with a shop today to do my Brabus VI's, they use paint and said in 6 years they have not ZERO returned... but that's easy to say either way...

Definately powdercoat. Aside from cost, there is really no advantages of using paint over powdercoat. Paint is very unreliable especially when used on rims where it's constantly under attack from road debree, acid, mud, rocks, etc....

I painted my rims before, but unfortunately within less than a year, I had to take it back to get re-painted and re-clearcoated.

The ONLY advantage that paint has is that you can choose any color, that is pretty much it.

Powder coating can actually stand up to the abuse of tire changes, brake dust, and rocks as the finish is MUCH harder.

Powdercoating is the daddy. The quality is in the surface prep. You still get chipc, but not nearly as bad as with paint and even clearcoat.

This is exactly what I was going to say.

Paint chips very easily, especially when taking lug nuts off etc.

My rims were at one time all chrome!
