HELP!!!! OFF TOPIC, but HELP!!!!
I was just pressure washing my patio when the pressure washer stopped working abruptly. I turned around to see that it had vibrated its way into the pool while it was running.
The pull starter won't budge the engine. Is it hydro-locked, and if so, did I just destroy the engine? Wwwaaaayyy off topic, but I figured you guys might have an answer (no, it's not supercharged). Any advice on how to procede from here would be appreciated, as this thing was almost $1,000.
Thanks guys.

First off, allow me to give you one of these:
You may have bent the valves when it tried to compress the water, but chances are it probably didn't.It's simple enuff to determine if you did however, but first:
Drain all the oil&gas out, drain the carburetor, take out the sparkplug(clean or replace)&pull a few dozen times. Then spray a bit of WD-40 in the cylinder so it doesnt rust up while it's drying.Dry out the air filter too.Once everything dries up overnite(u dont HAVE to wait that long)put it back together, top off the gas&oil&spray a bit of starting fluid in the carb to get things fired up.After it starts, let it run at idle a few minutes, then check to see if the oil is milky white(indicates theres still water in the crankcase)If it is,change the oil again&repeat til the oil stays lookin like oil...
Oh yeah,almost forgot:

Sorry Hazy but gixxer is right and its only funny because it didn't happen to me. Sounds like you got some good advice and I hope it works because that would suck more than a Gallardo not having vertical doors!

Thanks for the advice. I got it cleaned out and will try to fire it up tomorrow. You guys probably aren't laughing 1/2 as much as my wife and kids were after it happened. My five year old stopped laughing when I told him he was now getting a pressure washer for his birthday (I was cleaning the patio off for his 5th birthday party).

But it could have been worse.
Or Even
But then when I was wasting my time trying to find these pictures and be funny I found this. This is to close to home. It's an old E, but still an E.
Someone should have gotten a car fax report.

Nice if you could have AIRED footage of that pressure ized washout!
The 5 year old's facials must have been priceless.
Hey if you hosed it, at least you have one of those 'on your 5th birthday ...' story.

My in-laws stayed with us an extra day so as not to miss the playoffs while traveling, so I couldn't get to it yesterday. I will try to find time to re-assemble and fire it up this evening. Once I had it all apart and the water out, the pull cord moved the engine just fine w/o any unusual noises that I know of. It really seemed to be fine. Thanks again for the help and I'll let you know how it turns out.

I was pressure washing the patio the other day, when I realized that I had forgotten to ever give a final update on this. Thanks to your advice and $30 to a tool rental shop for a full tune-up, the machine is now working like new. Thanks again, as you saved me a bundle.
