I had to join this forum because the E55 is one my all-time dream cars. I am 19 and have a 2005 Chrysler 300C, but I plan on selling it and buying a 2003 E55 in the summer after I make some money to make up the difference. Hopefully I will soon be a true member of this forum!!!

Welcome aboard...one thing...save up for an extended warranty or get 04 CPO. I don't know your financial situation, but regular maintenance isn't cheap if you are not a DIY kind of guy. Also MB labor rates and their charging policy can be steep, so a seemingly simple problem can be a pain in ****.

Not to scare you off but it's the reality of the situation and it is always good to be prepared. If you get it though you will love it!!!!

e55 definitely ftmfw... ive been reading on this forum for a while, so I know all about the extended warranty. I, myself am not in a good financial standpoint, but my parents are, and they are kind enough to pay for maintenance. I am just a freshman in college, so I can only work in the summer. I have to say though, you guys are awfully similar to the 300c and srt-8 guys, and very different from the bimmer guys. Everyone's so nice here!

I went from a 300C to an E55 and all I can say is that you won't be disspointed at all. Two different worlds. I don't want to spoil it for ya, but prepared to be happy.

Just be careful benro, with great power comes great responsibility. You're a young guy and I can tell you personally that I myself put a few cars into medians at your age from being reckless. It's not just your life you're taking into your own hands, its the lives of everyone else on the road. Otherwise good luck on your search and I hope you find yourself a nice ride with no issues.

no ! dont! i hold the record for being the youngest to own a e55 without parents help!! your beating me on the edge lol..jk but you'll love it at your age, being a 20 year old, i can tell you from owning this car for a year now, the power does seem tempting, but sometimes, you have to behave and let go of the gas a little bit, one thing bothering me now is that, this car is fun and all, but this 4door automatic thing isnt for me or for my age, so really consider that

haha thanks guys. my mom has a jeep grand cherokee srt-8, which I have driven a lot since I got my license. Eventhough its not quite as powerful and fast as an e55, I've had some good training controlling fast cars. the only problem is that I dont think I can wait till the summer to get an e55, im too in love...

yes and no, over by you their are allot of great roads but TOO MUCH traffic.

come to the west and i can find a quarter Mile strip at night OR day with no one on it, and great pavement.

I'll get to work on what the Best location is for it.

safety thou.

Welcome Benro.
Not to rain on your parade too much but the brain must be trained and brought under control well in advance of car skills.

Take it to the track, you'll be much less inclined to be 19 on the street.

Go to the track...you will have loads of fun, get your speed jones under control, and you will get to appreciate what real speed is all about just watching some real "street" drag cars. The track is where you can really wring out your 55 and not have to worry about a cop around the corner or a car pulling out in front of you.
