** Evosport 63-Series Development Progress **
Hey all, although we have been working on 63 development for quite some time, we had not formally announced anything. We wanted to take this chance to give a glimpse into what we are doing, and what we will have available for your 63-series AMG.
We have been doing the majority of our development on a CLK63 Black Series. Have a car here and we're designing and building a number of great upgrades for the vehicle specifically as well as many items that will carry over to other 63-series models. Will use this thread to keep everyone posted. Some of the items being worked on as we speak are:
HEADERS
T304 stainless steel, tig-welded, tri-y design, high velocity merge collector, pulse tuned, port matched, sleeved design. The final product will have a lifetime guaranteed high polish coating.
Below are pics of the prototype unit...more to follow...
Here is the header compared to the 63 Black OE log manifold
compared to:
BRAKES
To start, we will offer multi-piece rear rotor (factory is solid) for the front and rear to match the front. Similar to what we offer now for the 55 AMG's (see below). Later we will offer a carbon ceramic rotor replacement option.
PULLEY
We will be offering the same industry leading technology found in our 55k pulley system for the 63-series cars.
(image of a 55k system for reference
SOFTWARE
Starting with the a basic ECU tune to a custom tune for the pulley and/or long tube header and cats. Done in house with Powerchip. Every evosport power package is tuned using our in house dyno and engineering in partnership with Powerchip exclusively.
AERO
We are developing our own splitter and rear trunk and/or wing for the CLK and CLK Black. With enough demand, we will also be offering this for other 63-series models. These will be out of high quality carbon fiber
TRACK SUSPENSION
All suspension pieces are being designed and produced in-house by our engineering team. The combined team has over 80 year racing experience from Indy Car to F1 to World Challenge and ALMS.
You can see more info on our racing team and program HERE and HERE
Thanks!

Will use this thread to keep everyone posted. Some of the items being worked on as we speak are:
- Stainless long-tube performance headers + hi-flow cats
- Stainless x-pipe resonator replacement
- Compound brake rotors (front/rear) + upgraded pads
- evosport dampened crankshaft and accessory pulley kit
- Custom software
- Aero Package (front carbon lower diffuser, rear carbon DTM-style wing)
- Track Package (billet lower rear adj. control arm, camber plates, track spring setup)

ones too fast according to CHP!
Aero pkg: We are making our own. For a few reasons we have gone down this road with our own design and manufacture.
Some of the reasons are:
thanks
Brad
Some of the reasons are:
- euro factory parts are very difficult to get reliably
- euro factory parts are extremely expensive, and fluctuating with the exchange rate
- we want to change the design slightly
thanks

Yes we have a "plan" but unless we see that the car needs it, we will not move forward. We have never been a company that makes product just to sell things, we will only make them if they show real gains!
Not yet. Dyno's and full pricing to be released with a proper product introduction once we have all that info. Sorry, just don't quite have all that info yet.
Thanks! We are lucky to have good people here in house!
Oh no. The OE primary cats are directly after the manifold. The only way to build a long tube is to move them. We will be using high-flow OE like metallic cats and all other emissions equipment though.
We have no plans to make a 55k long tube as the shorty headers ARE 100% OE compliant and require no alternation to the cats AND they are making great HP.
Not sure. We are pretty confident that they will be significant though based on the flow increase, especially combined with the other mods.
thanks

otoupalik: You may want to consider the cooling mods for the 63s. they definitely have worse heat soak than the 55s do. Didn't know about it until i went to the drags with them. Also, the E63 happens to have an oil temp display, so you can track it easily. Anyhow, their temps were really climbing and Ets dropping with each and every run. I had never thought much about cooling for those cars until then. Maybe a cooling kit or some of the plenum spacers?
Just a thought. May also be a good way to drop the compression, if you wanna boost it.

When we ran oil temps at around 65 C, all runs were very strong and the car pulled like crazy.

I can't see them either, go over to the CLK Forum and click on the Black Series sub-forum, there are plenty of pix on that thread of the headers.

Here are some updates as we wrap up the first development cycle.
Here are some X-pipe pics.
We have the option of Metallic Cats and Hi-Flow resonators for anyone if they are requested, FYI.
thanks

A picture is worth a thousand words...OEM logs are a joke compare to these babies.
The Metallic Cats, are they 200 cells? In/outlet size? Im going to put them on my 55 in place of the secondaries.

Yep - pictures are good.
The cats he have are 2.5" or 3" with 200cell. We have universals that will work great in your 55. We install them pretty often. Let me know if you need any!
thanks

Some updates.
Exhaust:
- We did add our high performance resonators, the rasp and harshness is gone. it sounds amazing!
Dyno:
- We have finished the first night/round of tuning. Pretty happy with the results so far! +56 RWHP and +47 RWT for the header, exhaust and software (of course done with our tuning partner Powerchip)!
Here is a quick vid on the rollers:
More to come........
Thanks
Brad
