never ever going to sac raceway again!

Same old story tires spin and spin! I ran a incredable 12.5 I didnt keep the slip but im sure I had a 3min 60'. after that run I just watched to see if it was me but nope alot of cars spinning even the big dogs.

Sorry Vic I realy wanted to see what the Cams did if anything but there is just no traction here. It was also hot and alot of cars so I didnt bother tryin again.

Side note everyone liked my rims.lol

What the hell is wrong with that track??!!!!

Never seen anything like it.

The sad part is, when a guy wipes it and is seriously injured, THEN they'll start using the VHT.

Glad I didn't come.... otherwise, would be a waste of $100 (track fee + gas ). If you could only get 12.5, I can't imagine what my car could get.... 13?

whats funny is I watched them use VHT on at least 1 side. I have no clue how much or if it was VHT but they acted like they were doin something.
Jackpro you get to the dyno yet? according to adams dyno I lost power. Kinda sucks that I cant even get a good launch to see if the track times are different. I think Im gonna try Infenion wanna come?

Rocket, the only thing that matters was your trap speed, especially if checking for a power increase with the addition of the cams. So, what was it?

BTW, 12.5 is not that bad. I've done 12.8 @ 124mph

It was 117mph with Cams. and my fastest without cams was 122mph.

EDIT: I also added VRUS air box phelonic spacers and seperated cooling lines. NONE of it helped.

Wow!! Something sounds off. I've got my set in my trunk waiting for the install but now I'm getting a little nervous.

What is the next step for you?

+1

The track at Sacramento is just way too slipery. I saw normal street cars with just 200 hp that were still slipping on the staging lanes let alone AMGs or modified AMGs

Adam, please make sure the OVER-PREP that track for us by our next event.

What a drag (sorry about the pun). Not shocked though, everything about Sac sucks.. not just the track. Par for the course. Glad I got outta there. Before some enviroweeneis shut down Fremont back in the 80's you could get some great runs in down there. I've been out of bracket racing for a long time, but I hear the local track at Bremerton is pretty fast and the VHT is actaully maintained. When we road-race there, the will bill us to re-treat the track if we put a tire on the VHT. I do not know from personal experience, and that would be a hell of a long drive for you guys. LOL

You guys are missing the point of Rocket's post. It was not about how bad the track sucked. He went to the track to see if his VRP cams gave him more HP. His dyno was down after he installed the cams and this track run, specifically his trap speed confirmed the loss of power.

I hope this was an aberration because I also just spent a bunch of money on these cams.

Jakpro, Victor, please chime in.

If he cannot go WOT down the track due to traction how can you measure hp from trap speed when he is off throttle? 117 trap in SAC is what a stock 55 does, easily. 12.5 aint terrible but he likely could not go WOT w/o sliding ..If he was full throttle there is a problem

I was wide open! but when I launched it spun bogged down and took off again. I have to run TC and slightly push the pedal to even come close to stayin straight. I will not run at sac with out traction control.lol I tryed that one time and I almost smacked in to scotts SL65 I was so sideways.

wow, so you were WOT after initially not hooking , anybody data log? sounds like the 63 curse is still on ya

Id get her back to Adam asap and do a couple runs make sure your throttle body is working and ecu is tuned properly for your new power. Dam sucks bro ,maybe we should all head to Infinion? give me a date dayum

Juciee, et is traction dependent but trap speed is not. Trap speed tends to be a good indicator hp and a good way to determine if mods actually increased hp.

I assume Rocket regularly traps @ 120-122 at this track........well today he trapped @117 and that was after the addition of cams and spacers. I do not care if he spun a quarter of the way down the track.......his terminal velocity still should have been much higher than 117. Yes, this could have been an aberration but I think his car (and not the track) is having the real issue.

Oliver is comming to euroelites soon so I will have him dyno tune it. but seriously how much power you gonna get with a tune. besides I thought there was no tunning needed for these. Im in for infinion when ever you say bro.

in theory yes, but if you cannot make the pass based on traction loss, many folks let up, and for good reason. I thought perhaps he coasted like he usually does when scurred. I saw this same carmake a 28 second pass course that was driver coolness!!

rocket's car definitely needs a retune and like what rocket said, he thought these cams do not require additional programming.

The trap speed does indeed confirm that rocket's car loss power.

Man another bad day at Sac, unbelievable no change at all since the last get together. Glad I didn't go, besides my mods are talking forever to get here.

I am so down for Infinion, let's make this the next meet. Can anyone in the BA vouch on the track prep?

hey buddy let make a trip to infineon next weekend and do this right. I hear they have good prep. I feel that it is not fair to Vic unless we can get a real run in. you already know how I feel about dynos. I dont belive them.

Lets be real here how much can my car gain even if oliver dyno tunes it? not much if anything it will get back to where I was. so lets run it the right way at Infineon? Im sure Juice would come.lol.

Let's do this:

Give us the beast next week, and then we will check it out and go from there.

No problem on Infineon.

Rocket,
as for cams, please make sure the following :

1. Cams were installed with CAM alignment tools
2. CRANK was exactly at specified degree mark
3. Air Recirc valves WERE removed before aligning cams. If not cam may be off one tooth. THIS IS A MUST. One of the cam tools hits the valve. 126/1 and 126/2

We have these cams on BMS's car and he has gains. I will try and get dyno sheets.
