Vadim still insists that an 8 rib pulley is not necessary. I will most likley keep my 60mm SC pulley and enlarge the crank pulley to 132mm to get to 17psi. With the rebuilt/reinforced engine and tranny, I should be able to max out the Autorotor 2.2 to 26psi but I doubt that can happen with the M113 motor where the redline is so low. That's why the titanium rods were never installed.

Don't have a Mercedes right now...
This car must have some serious mods right? Usually the diesels from that era are slow like dogs. I am curious what kind of mods can be done on a diesel ?

It is not impossible. The trade off is that the car would cease to be a luxury car. I am not sure anyone has the real desire to have a stripped out CL65/600. It kind of takes away from the whole purpose of the car..

Every now and then I check out RacingJunk.com just to see what's for sale. Here's an R129 SL for sale that could probably run a 1.4 or better 60' time but to Tom's point any semblance of luxury is long gone: http://www.racingjunk.com/category/2...-Mercedes.html

The 1,000lbs weight loss is certainly do-able. Here are some weight loss ideas which I wouldn't do:
Take out all the double paned glass (front windshield and rear window included) and replace them with lexan. (Estimated savings 75+lbs)
Take out all the ABC suspension pieces and replace with a conventional coil over suspension (warning some assembly and welding may be required ). (savings 175lbs)
Strip out massage seats and rear seat and replace with carbon fiber race seats up front, also need seatbelt harness as factory seats have the belts attached. (150lbs)
Replace factory hood with carbon fiber hood with no sound deadening material...(might as well have louvers, ducts or scoops built into the hood to allow more under-hood air volume). What the Heck...might as well replace all metal body panels wth carbon fiber pieces while we are at it. (50lbs)
DYMAG wheels. (60lbs)
Replace big brakes (at least on CL65) with a small brake kit or throw some carbon ceramics rotors on. (40lbs)
Take out all carpeting and leather in the interior and trunk. (50lbs)
Tear out sound deadening materials in doors, behind dash, and roof. (75lbs)
Take out motors for windows, sun roof and trunk closer (Jay doesn't need to do that delete ) (25lbs)
Take out windshield washer reservoir (15lbs)
Custom lightweight titanium exhaust with Cats deleted. (50+lbs)
Lightweight battery replacement (20lbs)
I think if you dump all other "non-essentials" you could probably stand to lose another 200+lbs (power steering pump, A/C compressor, etc..)

That will be awesome buddy. So only thing you did to the bottom end is pistons? Do they have a special coat to work with our blocks? No rods or sleeves? I am interested to see how your car turns out. One day I will probably build my motor and turn up the boost too, I just don't know which route I'm gonna go. With a built bottom end I see the old Kleemann blower being able to put out 600+whp and that a conservative estimate
btw... How is the fit and finish on your CF hood? Is it from VIS? Where can I get your battery? Again what's the brand if you don't mind me asking?

Alans 131 mph trap
my 1.47 60ft
You hold the ET record non nos???already correct.
The fastest passes since belong to Alan in his E55, also the quickest which you already own.
If you need a comprehensive list maybe Tom can help by updating the most accurate list which is on Absolutelydriven..

Go for it! With those awesome 60' times without any boost issues, my 10.58 is easily beaten. That will give me some motivation to go faster. I can't believe that 10.58 has stood for 18 months.
