However, that DOESN'T mean that they're not capable with some minor tweaks here and there. It's my understanding the ECU is hard to unlock, but it already has been done by a fews tuners. If you can unlock another 50 to 80hp with some minor upgrades and a little $$$$ don't you think all those "dumbasses" that paid over MSRP would do that?

Jim, I respect what you're doing with your car. It's cars like yours that make me love owning an AMG, but you act like no one else can modify or tune their cars. You put down stock Z06's, stock M cars, and now stock GTR's. The GTR might end up being a worthy replacement for the Skyline (one of the most repected factory/tuner cars ever produced). A GTR with all the mods you have might end up eating you for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a midnight snack for half the price and a back seat.

Back on topic, I think this list should NOT have multiple names. Possibly two entries at most for bottle/no-bottle.

You guys have extremely hot weather and consistently high DA most of the time right? So running mid 12s in your neck of the woods is actually impressive considering the magazines reported 11.80s to 11.90s for stock Z06s

Yes, in the summer it is very humid here and yesterday saw 97 degrees on the thermo. Now that today is in the 70s, we'll see the times improve from Saturday's run in Indiana. I watched every one of Jim's runs and his problem is NOT HP, its traction, pure and simple. Saturday at Morrocco was a bear with temps at 92 +, so that also affected times as well. Heat soak city!! Jim can drive, so the issue is one of can he HOOK it and GO!!

I hope you are not talking about me. I never put down stock Z06's, a Z06 is an AWSOME car and I have a ZR1 on the way in two weeks. All I said is that I have never seen one run faster than mid 11's. As for the M's, I have owned several of them, I was/am a die hard BMW fan, they can take a beating like no other car in the world, change the oil and put gas in em', that's all it takes. The verdict is still out on my AMG as to how reliable it's gonna be seeing that I only have about 4500 miles on her. What I do have a problem with BMW about is the current E92 M3 is a joke...YEP, A JOKE! BMW was on top of the world since 1995 with their M3's, setting the bar very high for everyone else. In my opinion their latest attempt falls short, I own an E36 and E46 M3, a E92 would have been a nice addition to the family, but I can't justify it's lack of power and technology, I would have been happier with a 500 hp car, that seems to be the magic number now days. The M3 might be holding it's own right now against an aging RS4 and CLK, but what happens when the new soon to be released 490 hp S4 is released and the next generation 500 plus hp CLK? Don't believe me? Call your local BMW dealer and ask how many M3's they have on the lot...I bet they have at least a couple, so I'm obviously not the only enthusiast with these feeling.

As for the Skyline name, I am well aware of what a Skyline is, thank GOD that they did not shame the Skyline by calling the GTR a Skyline, 10 year old Skylines outperform the "new" GTR in most categories

I don't want to hijack this thread any longer. I wish it didn't get off track, but in every post about other makes you seem to compare your car to their stock cars. It's not a fair fight. Give the GTR owners a few more months with the car. Maybe the guy in this thread can report back after his track day. Sounds like he owned one of the fastest amg's out there, and has switched to a GTR.

I have a good friend that owns a bone stock Black Series, are you telling me that you think a stock GTR can outrun a stock Black Series? You're on ludes......A stock Black Series will run circles around a GTR in ANY category you can name...except price, but most of these idiots are paying close to Black Series money for their crappy GTR's LOL! Don't put words in my mouth.

I don't doubt any of your times. Your car is a beast. My point is just that you have a guy that had one of the fastest MB's, gets a GTR, and puts up a better time than a stock 63BS in his very first two runs in bad conditions. You claim a stock GTR can't hold a stock BS' jock in ANY competition.

what is weird here is that Jims car seems wicked strong in the 1/8th vs heavily modded 55's yet as the car goes down the track the back 1/8th drops off a bit. 96.25 1/8th mile split all motor is real special for a 63 N/A car

Jims 1/8th mile split is just behind RFLOW the 1/4 mile trap is at the bottom what could be happening back 1/8th to the current fastest 63?

You're right, the MIR results are not on there yet. We need your run, Ahmed's run, John's run, and Andy's run. And it doesn't look like the Famoso ones are on there either..... At Famoso, we need Sal's SL55 run of 11.38 as well as one of Rick's 11 second passes. Also, chiromikey ran an 11.38 at speedworld on the exact same day as our previous Famoso rental.

Wow, records are falling fast around here

results from MIR and Famoso need to be logged , timeslips scanned etc..

Tom and Jay I think at this point we also need to indicate the size of the NOS shot .

I will wait for SAL and Chrimikey's slips as well as any other benz that should be on the list and is absent.
