Quote: Im in the car business going on 11 years and If you know anything about these cars is that if you want white w/ pano with all the options your gonna pay. The last time I put it up forsale I had at least 5 serious buyers that met up with me and saw the car and were all fighting over who was going to take it.(about 3 months ago) I wound up not selling it to any of them because around the same time my old college buddy was home from PA. and I stupidly gave him first dibbs on the car. A week later of running credit and he couldnt get approved on the loan so in stead of calling everyone back I just held on to the car. The problem is that your comparing this cars price to the lowest prices that you find on the internet, not realizing the higher priced cars are getting sold left and right. Just the other day there was a post for a E55 going for $55,900 with 36k miles and everyone was saying how there must be a mistake or that the car has frame damage cause it was soo cheap but Im not that far away. Yea you can find a silver one for less money but if you can consider seeing yourself driving any other color than white then this car is not for you. Also not everyone has thousands to spend on Renntech upgrades that add about 5hp per $1000 you spend. It is alot easier to make one simple payment. The thing is that the car is so perfect and its such a head turner that I have no problem keeping it forever but I want to sell it cause of my wife. Because of her nagging *** I never get to enjoy the car like one should. But Ill tell you what, find me the same car currently forsale, white and all with the same options for cheaper and I will lower the selling price.
Im in the car business for quite a while myself. And I AGREE with your comments.. Im pretty knowledge on the pre-owned Viper market..NEVER have I seen a car, that so drastically effected by color.. There can be a $10k swing in market value for these cars, depending on color, stripes, etc. A solid Red Viper is worth nothing. But a white/blue stripes 06', is worth 10k over book. I agree, you have the right color car. Did I mention I have an Alabaster 05'

No question, you have the Right car,Right color, right options. This WILL equal high demand TO an extent.. The only drawback on your car is the miles, which is pretty big. The car market is VERY soft right now for all luxury items, the economy sucks.... Even the 06's in the mid-upper $50's arent selling.. Can you get a few thousand more than the average E55? Yes, you probably can... $10k more?? maybe... If the car had under 10k miles. Id say the price is pretty close.

Like I said, I TRULY hope that you get 10 calls on it today, and someone buys it for asking.. But dont overshoot too much. Or, you'll just end up sitting on it, while it continues to depreciate.. Liek it or not, The E63's are starting to hit the used car market now, and will continue to do so.. There have been a million 63vs55 posts. The botton line is, the 63 is newer. And will always bring more money than the 55.. Good luck with it...

i disagree with your mods post. will your mods yield you a higher selling price yes and no. a stock car will always be easier to sell than a modded car. a modded car narrows your target buyers because id say over 90 percent of people dont give a dick about mods or are knowledgeable enough to care. we, the enthausiasts only represent a very very small portion of AMG owners. even then, some people would perfer more to buy a stock car over a modded car for the two reasons being

1. mods are personal. what you value in a mod may not mean anything to someone else and vice versa.
2. a modded car is mostly always driven hard. im new to mercedes but been in the BMW game for a few years now and people dont go spend 10-20-30 thousand dollars for a supercharger and/or a turbo just to look cool and cruise. im not saying your car was abused, but a car driven to its limit will generally no last as long as one that has been babied. there are exceptions but im just basing it on aveages.

so, for your mods to be worth something you would have to sell your car to an enthusiast, who would have to see the value in your mods. even then, generally, the aveage going rate is probably 25cents back per dollar spent in mods. at least thats how it is with BMW/AUDI. and seriously if you were serious in selling the car, a part out would make you more money. honestly, its your car and you have the right to ask whatever amount makes you happy. hell u can ask 200k if you wanted to.. but like most people have been saying, with the economy right now and the amount of these cars on the market, as well as the forecast for the next year or so, its all about supply and demand. and with that i would tie in means.

See this is what i don't understand and please someone call MBUSA and cuss them out.

The dealer told me there giving 08 E63's for 1k a month on a lease with most likely 8k down. So on a 92k car that covers the tax and license. So if your paying 1k a month for three years without even the dealer making money you still owe 56k. The dealer offered me 67k with my 08 E6 with 9k miles. So at this point my car in 3 years will be worth 50k at best.

A 2004 E55 with 45k miles on KBB is worth 49k private party. It just doesn't make sense how they can give the car out for that cheap. Either MB changes there prices or they give us all money back for ripping us off. Just my .02

ive seen leases range from 1000-1100 for the new E63s with no money down.

some of the older E55s for as little as 900/month. im thinking lease may be the way to go in this economy because AMG cars and cars as a whole are depreciating like freaking rocks.

If MB knows it drops that much then there over pricing the car is what im trying to say!!!
