Can someone please tell me what the stock SIZE and BRAND on amg wheels was - front and rear? And what price can I expect to pay for a set? Thanks in advance!

I think TireRack.com has the answers to size and price. The brand is Continental.

Hmmm for both the model years 2005 and 2006 I show 2 stock tires, for non-tpms vehicles.
Front 1: 245/40-18
Rear 1: 265/35-18
Front 2: 245/35-19
Rear 2: 275/30-19
I thought the split-spoke AMG wheels were 18's? Now I'm even more confused. And are the stock US tires the ContiSportContact3's or the ContiProContact? Thanks again!

Both rims are Style IV (split spoke). The 19" is the 030 package rims. Not many made it to the states, so good luck. You can also buy them from the manufactoooor. The 18 numbers that you have are the stock ones.

Oh yeah, the Conti SPORT!! Read my prior thread. Why do you want OEM so bad? They suck and are expensive.

Well I used to be OCD about stock things such as tires but read lots of reviews last night on tire rack and here and have come to the conclusion that I will be buying a different brand of tires than continental, that happen to be cheaper! Thanks......

Good choice. What are you going with? Ever consider moving up in size and down in profile one step? Just a thought. It makes a cushier ride, but still has grip. I would minimally go to a 275/40 in the rear.

Exclamation

I was gonna go with 245/40s in the front and 275/35s in the rear. From all the threads I've read, I was gonna try out the Toyo T1Rs. Of course, I've never purchased tires other than at a Discount Tire or some such, so I have absolutely no experience ordering online, even though it looks much cheaper. Do you just order them (do you need to get valve stems or something as well?) and find a local shop to mount them?

Please insert retard joke here...LOL!
