2003 E55 AMG
The trans works fine.. we didnt get a chance to take it to the strip because the customer who owns the car kept wanting more work done so the car has been in Houston for a while.
This car also received the ported S/C... Unfortunately the hurricane that hit Houston has also put a damper on the plans and stalled alot of work because most businesses are still without power.
Once the car is finished and is able to go to the track we will report back on everything that was done.

I am not sure if this question was already asked on the forum, but I'll take my chances.
Since the 7G is beefed up, would it fit an E55k?
SLK55 has the 7G tranny, which is essentially a M113 motor. I know it is not the kompressor version but I don;t think that matters much in this case.
I jut like the gearing better on the 7G, that's the reason I am asking.
Thanks.

vrus said they have a beefed up 722.9 (7G-tronic). So, it should be able to take that much torque. Originally it was rated at a max of 517lbft of torque, that's as much as an E55k puts out. If it would be stronger than OEM then I wouldn't worry about which one is stronger since I won't have 1000 ftlb of torque out of that engine.
The gears are much better in the 7G compared to the 5 spd one.

I still haven't seen anything in here from people that have the mod, and what would a package price before for the diff and all the other goodies to make it totally bullet proof?

I decided to rebuild my stocker, and boy did it reawaken my car. I guess if you're running a modified engine then it might be worth it, but I'm going to run mine with 90K until it blows up, then upgrade to a 55 and revisit the Bullet Trans at that time. So far, I can turn off ESP and burn the tires and drift it like it should!

I found the torrington bearing between the input and output shaft to be the weak link. It was replaced with a roller unit which I belive to be the standard now. The end result will be TBD. But like I said, I'm running it hard now to see what else breaks so I can tell the wife I have a reason to swap out the engine and justify keeping this car. Which BTW is a 2 owner California original with 90K on the block and IMO is better than the new AMG's that I think are over the top and have become profit centers for the "stealerships" LOL.
