newb climate control q
so i searched the forum and the owners manual and can't seem to figure this out - is there a way you can control the climate temp so that the temp on driver and passenger move up/down together when the driver controls it?
i thought there must be some obscure way to do it, but the manual doesn't mention anything about it so i think i'm outta luck...

I'm sorry to say, but MB really went and screwed this one up. Not only can you not take them both up and down at the same time, but it takes forever to take it from high to low, youd think that if you held it, it would speed up. This is one of the few things that MB should have fallowed the Japanese on. My girlfriends 30,000 dollar infiniti does that, and it onyl takes about 10 seconds to go from high to low. While I'm talking about this, am i the only one who thinks that the preset numbers on the COMAND should be on the other side, when im using the SAT my arm hurts after holding it there for that long. And a question, is there any way to get the up-down buttons on the steering wheel to change the radio by preset and not by radio stations? Porsche Cayenne has that option.

There is a button function to lock the front and rear controls together that is outlined in the manual.
And yes, it is a pain to set the left and right separately but I generally have them all parked and 70-72* summer or winter so it isn't that annoying.

And yes, you can control presets from your steering wheel, but you have to change it in the instrument cluster behind your steering wheel to the radio preset menu. if it's on any other menu, your up/down arrows will only seek, not go by presets. another annoying feature, but you get used to it after a while. it just sucks because who the heck *wants* to seek FM stations ever? i prefer to have the display on the trip computer or compass w/ street name most of the time, but i can't since i want my up/down arrows to be functional for presets

One of my biggest gripes with the W211. My W210 E55 had that, and I just cannot believe anyone had the thought that it was a good idea to take that option away and make the buttons seek only. DUH. Has anyone notice the buttons are completely counter-intuitive? I mean the button relief "up" scrolls down, and the "dished" button seeks up??? As far as the temp setpoints running together, it ain't in my '06.
