Mercedes Marketing Has Gone to S***
Am i the only one who think that MB marketing is crap? They say that their fabulous service is their marketing... BS. Their service sucks. And so does their marketing. Havent they learned yet that men buy things that make them feel like men? Things that make them feel manly? BMW marketing is 100 steps ahead of MB. I picked up my 16 year old cousin from school yesterday, and he's never seen my car before, so he gets in and he says "what kind of car is this" and i reply "its an E55 AMG", do you know what he replied with... "is that like a 5 series?" He knows what an M% is, and he understands what its capable of, but he never even knew that MB had something that was on par with it. Come on MB, step it up.

Very true, but honestly dude, Benz will always be perceived as an old guy car (mostly). Weird though, you have more rap songs on Earth about Benzs yet all the kids want are Bimmers. 
On a positive note, it produces some of the best faces when you just obliterate someone who has no clue about AMG.
Wish I had a rear facing "kill cam". Hmmmmmmm......

I think it is true that more people are aware of BMW M5 then of E55 or E63. However, I dont really care. I think it was generally true even back in 1999 and 2000 with W210 E55. But I do think that on the road most people think that we are driving regular E class Mercedes.

50% of the rap songs out there are about "the Benz." Last time I heard a Bimmer mentioned in a rap song were "cherry M3's" or "chillin' in my bimmer." They are rarely mentioned. MB doesn't even have to promote it's image. The entertainment industry does it for them. You get money, you spend it on a coupe sittin' on deuce zeros or you go for the big body benz...or so the songs say lol

I'm going to completely disagree with you here. Your little cousin is not their target demo. Half of the mainstream rap songs out reference "Big Body Benzes" and the like, Paris Hilton has her SLR (thanks to MB Marketing), Lindsay Lohan and Britney both drive AMG's. That's called VIRAL marketing people. You can't see it but it's there in front of your eyes. Mercedes has better advertising than BMW any day of the week.

For some reason, most of the young folks know a lot about bimmers compared to Mercedes. More specifically, they know what an M3 or an M5 is, but have no clue what an AMG truely is. They may see Britney driving a Mercedes, but I'm not sure they know that the Mercedes she's driving is actually an AMG

Honestly, i love that people on the road dont know what my car is, i love passing Porsches and seeing the looks on their faces, that alone was worth the price tag of the car, but i just think its sad that people haven't even really heard of it. It's a shame that most of the people out there dont know about the beauty of AMG engineering, dating back to the days of the infamous Hammer
