So what. It's still a relevant topic of discussion. The last time I checked, people are still getting red battery lights for the first time. In fact, I'm going to do a video on the repair, so other aren't duped into getting gang raped at the dealer by what I see if a cleaverly crafted marketing error message, designed to scare drivers into the dealer.

A couple months ago I noticed my car was a bit slow to start up so as (I think anyway) my trunk battery was the orginal one, I called around (O'Riley, Autozone), gave them my car year, type, etc and I got the replacement from AutoZone for about $130 (don't recall exactly), and they even installed it for free for me in their parking lot. Took the guy 10 minutes.
For stuff like this not covered under warranty, never, ever, ever go do the dealer. Find a goodl MB local repair shop (I use AutoHaus in Scottsdale AZ).

Thats what i did for the front and rear. Got them both for under $230. My friend had the same red code on his 4matic like mine. But got Advance Auto parts to install in their lot for same price....no more red code.
