2004 E55 I Phone works with bluetooth
#29
......First option is to simply unplug your V60 phone from the cradle and replace it with the puck and you are ready to go. in this case your car already has a functioning V60 phone before you install the puck. The subsequent options are for folks who do not have any phone at all in their car.
.........Second option is to install a blue label auto sense V60 PSE. Then you install a "cradle delete" and plug your puck directly into the cradle delete. This is NOT what Yatchmaster has.
.........A third option is to forget totally about the autosense PSE and purchase the unit that Yatchmaster has and have it installed by your dealer in place your Teleaid will ordinarily plug to. This is the least expensive an an elegant way of having a fully functioning MB BT system without ever having had a phone in your car and never having to use the PSE or V60 cradle. It is new. I hope this clears it up.

I have an early build 2005 model. It was manufactured in 07/2004. I have teleaid but no phone cradle. Anyone have any idea what I would need to do to get bluetooth to work in my E55 where the steering wheel and command screen operate properly? Would the early 05's be different from later builds or are all 05's the same?

2003 E55 AMG
This is a very helpful thread for me. I just this week bought an 03 E55, and have been pondering the best way to bring my techno-geek life into the cabin. Right now, I have a Garmin Nuvi 680 GPS suctioned to the windshield. I make calls via the BT of the Garmin, which has a built in mic and a FM radio transmitter playing the audio out through the stereo (no COMAND GPS in this one).
This worked great in my prior car (BMW 540i), but the distance from Garmin to FM antenna perhaps is greater now, or the antenna is not as happy with the Garmin in the new Beast, and so I have yet to find an FM station that can reliably give me clear audio.
There was a question about whether the iPod capabilities of an iPhone would play back through the V60. Right now I'm using a Nokia N95 as my cell, but am thinking seriously about the V2 iPhone rumored to be released this summer. I'd love to have cell phone + iPod all going bluetooth into the Harmon Kardon system in the Beast.
Anyone know if that works?

Mercedes-Benz Bluetooth Cradle Replacer Adapter
Mercedes-Benz Bluetooth Cradle Replacer Adapter.
It appears this unit,Part # B67875855, eliminates the need for the Bluetooth Cradle and the V60 Bluetooth adapter.
Any users of this approach?

I started a similar thread in the W211 forum: https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...r-adapter.html
Any experiences with Fort Lauderdale MBZ versus Pompano Beach MBZ? I am looking for a competent shop to do some minor work on my E500.

w211 2004
i have a w211 2004 . im kind of confused here . my dealer asked for my cars chassis number to determine whether it is wired or not. i gave it to him and he told me its wired and all i have to do is buy a standard cradle or a bluetooth one . does that mean i just put it in the car ? no installation needed or wiring or work inside the armset ? there is nothing inside the armset of my car . plz advice

How do I figure out if my '06 is wired for the phone function? I have no cradle in my center console and when I push the TEL button on the command unit, I get the message "phone not installed".

On my wagon, I have this connection in my console -
Reading the thread, I think I can buy this and plug it in -

It looks to be the same piece as http://www.wireless4mb.com/page14/page14.html just a bit cheaper.

In my 2005 CDI, (MY 9/2004, I don't have the contact plate, but a square black cable and a round orange coaxial cable behind that wall, what should I use to get bluetooth connectivity?

You GAIN functionality, not loose any. The MB branded product only works with certain phones and is not updateable. The Viseeo works with ALL phones and is software updateable.
If you have the contact plate, you need nothing else.

Since that I do not have the contact plate, what is the difference between the BT and Viseeo. Will I have to buy additional equipment for the BT to function?
THX.

The iTronic BT is a self contained module that FULLY emulates the factory phone system (but again, with more features and updateable). Since it is self contained, it replaces the need for a puck, MHI module, contact plate, cabling, etc.
It just plugs into the car's network (installation video available on our site) - then all factory phone functions are available.

Ive been searching for quite sometime. This might be the right thread to ask this. I have a 04 E55 and the oem ipod connection, what I wanted to do is have the iphone/ipod to sit in the flip up arm rest. So the easiest thing I thought of is running a 7ft female to male ipod cord also known as a dock extender cable, all the way and drill a smal hole or something and have it sit in there. My question is is there an easier route? Ive seen the cradle for the 3G and 3GS but I am going to use my iphone 4. Any suggestions?
Thanks
