I'm considering selling my 2005 E55, it's fully loaded w/ CPO warranty...
My car is almost identical to yours. It's black/black and the he only options it was missing was parkrtronic/distronic, pano roof, sat radio, and rear window blinds. It had only 15k miles and is in brand-new condition. Asking price was almost $14K less than yours. So, if you're looking for an unsuspecting buyer, like many MB dealerships, best of luck. But to seriously ask that much for you car is kinda crazy.

There is also a chance that you drove the car into a wall and they pieced it back together for you and MB didn't want to get it back, so they worked a deal out with your insurance company.
There is also a chance that you are in a lemon law state that forces manufacturer's to buy the car back and you had a lemon but told them you would keep the car for "special" price. They then decided it was in their best interest to cut bait and gave you a good price for a normal car but a ****y price for a lemon. I live in a lemon law state and once a lemon goes on title the car is F-in worthless, half it's normal value minimum. It's illegal for manufacturers to screw with title but dealers switch states and reissue title all the time.
I personally think your deal is way to good for a normal situation and no one has ever claimed to get anything like that out of MBCC, so I will assume you have some F-ed up situation. If it's to good to be true..........

They could be lemon law cars, damaged or mechanically unsound cars. Manheim runs anything through the gate, they do not discriminate. I also have never seen such a conserted effort by a group to find such great deals, even non-AMG owners are working on it. I hope you have a dealers license and get to buy a non-CPO car on your own. I wish you luck with it's condition and what warranty it has, if any. If you recall any modifications on the AMG voids the warranty, so you better have your lift with you to look underneath it and a portable computer to pull the title to see if it's clean and then call the dealer to see if the warranty is in effect. Alot of people do not even know if a car is modified until something goes wrong, then they get F-ed when you go in for service. Goodluck with your search and I hope the fear of god is now in your mind, it should be.

I don't want to flame, but there are plenty of CPO 2006's with less miles for sale with a price of around $50,000
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2006-...em160216666398
05's with such mileage are going for well under 50k...

Or there could be nothing wrong with them. Why don't you just chill out man? These cars are soft, whether black, white, blue or .... Why do people get all personal about the price of their cars? It's the market, it doesn't matter what anyone says on any board. But I think your personal attacks on people just because they think your car's overpriced is a bit out of line. I wish I could get $60k for my '06 with less miles than yours, but I'm not dillusional. If your car was such a great deal and so rare it would have been sold by now, and you're still trying to justify why your car's so great. Just keep the frickin' thing.

CPO, non-CPO, there are plenty of E55's out there with Carfax and AutoCheck verified from dealers, not just from the auction or individual owners. Hot one from a dealer on Ebay with 27K mi on it for 48K.
I can understand you wanting top dollar for the car Skooby, in that respect. No need to get upset or insult anybody over it though.
P.S.
I just saw this thread:

Those #'s are not far off. I have access to manheim also... they don not do so hot at the auction. If i bought his car at the auction and sold it for what he was asking i would net $15 to $20k...

True manheim does not care what or why... but understand MAJORITY of AMG cars are bone stock and from what I have seen have rarely seen red line... buying at an auction is no all that sketchy, many people make a very HONEST living doing so
There have also been cases of clean title cars that were first going to be listed on copart because of body damage that were later fixed and sold at manheim as average or good with a clean carfax. Hard to believe but true, some people in this business also make a not so honest living. People put way to much trust in Carfax, or maybe it's because I live in south Florida and this is the scam capital of the U.S.
Imho the treatment the car received ie accidents, maintenance is way more important than whether it was modded or not.
I would only buy a used amg with a factory warranty or cpo that way you are covered.
Auction cars are like a box of chocolates you never know what you'll get inside.
