wow. its now happened to me. warranty denial by mbusa for warped rotors because of specs of rubber underneath rear fenderwell. WTF does this have to do with stopping the car when im flooring it!!! now i had my share of benzes and have taken it in the *** on one occasion but this is so outside the realm of reality im fing thunderstruck. $3,700 to fix. still havent fixed the hesitation problem either.

so mb rep did an inspection and said clearly this has been powerbraked. never had to powerbrake this car. you can just floor it and produce rubber. i power brake my truck all the time with no problems. are our cars so fragile they need to make up problems to deny a warranty. is my entire car flagged for doing a burnout? bad motor, DENY. bad trans, DENY, bad radio, DENY.

im damn pissed right now damnit. any resolution will cost me money thats what pisses me off. bout ready to bag mb altogether and just cut my losses. AGAIN.

Big question now is did you get "perma-flagged"

They say anything about that??

Wow, that has to beat even one my stealers from hell up here. Not my guys, but their competition. They have declared Jihad on modders.

I had a wet shot of nitrous, subwoofer, rims, tune, aftermarket HIDs, and Lord knows what else I through in that car...and the dealerships had no problem doing warranty work

Just make friends with the service advisor . In the world of modding, you can't be penny wise and pound foolish or you'll get burned in the end.

Yeah man, thats some BS right there.
The S/A at my dealer has been real cool w me&knows my car has been down the track more then once or twice.
Is the idiot who flagged your car aware that you don't need to powerbrake in order to light up the tires on a 63?.Dumbass

isn't there enough precedence of warped rotors on 63's to show your case is not an isolated event or an event caused by specific behavior?

Go to a different dealer. That's the answer dude. It all depends on how you catch it.

Is this EuroMotorCars-Bethesda or Germantown? Since the new service manager took over at Germantown, I've run into similar situations there with my car. They are really going downhill. I used to be treated like royalty there, now I'm just a pauper.

There's an MB dealer in Hagerstown and a few in NOVA to choose from. I would try somewhere else.

That's total BS, I was in the stealer last week doing the recall and I asked my SA if this dealer was mod. friendly, he said here at Walters in Riverside we don't have a problem with mods, unless there real extreme, he said the one time he had to black flag a car was when a guy came in with a nitrous setup. Good Luck.

A slow Tahoe!
Just about done with MB!!

I asked to have the 10c fan adjustment made on my car and they flagged my car for "one to watch". My SA was out the day I brought it in for the Fuel Recall work, the rookie that took his place wrote it up and they assumed I had modifications on the car and that was the reason I wanted the 10c fan adjustment. I'll never go back to that dealership. He told me they made copies of the work order and put in a file. I'm just about done with MB period. That M6 that's for sale is looking better every day, and my good friend works for BMW above a SA level.

thats terrible. My dealer has been cool about the mods. I had a seal leak which was caused by the RT pulley installation. They wrote that it couldnt be fixed under warranty until it was returned to the original condition. So they pretty much turned a blind eye on it. They even replaced a sensor that was somehow related, but only did it because they already had it out.

If they start this crap, they are going to loose a lot of customers fast! So now they are flagging cars for "suspected modifications"? Is MB in some sort of financial trouble? I understand they can not warranty heavily modded cars like mine, but this is insane!

Why they have a mb rep there to inspect your rotors in the first place? I thought the stealership can make general warranty decisions without mb rep's present?

This is terrible if they are just trying to find any fault to avoid warranty service.

Give the loaner some work on the local speed bumps at about 60 MPH.

My SA has been pretty cool. I actually talked to several of them before deciding who I wanted to work with. I knew he'd be cool when he was telling me he wanted to put a supercharger on his SRT8 Jeep... Not to mention, he appreciates the muscle cars. Anyway, my car is out of warranty (it is now covered on a third party warranty, for what that is worth) and I told him I was gonna put a pulley on it. He responded with, "bring it in and lets go for a ride!" I think I could probably rely on him to hook me up fixing something on the third party warranty if it came to that. I think...

Once again another situation with ignorant Mercedes reps and dealers who outright suck. I have been tortured by them all. The worst service and support in 17 years owning cars. Jcart and all others its obvious Mercedes doesn’t care one bit about losing customers it seems the hierarchy of corporate hot shots just want to give people a hard time as part of their ego. Mercedes isn’t the company it was once respected for its products and customers. I never witnessed another company of its scale turn their backs on customers like I see and experienced with Mercedes. Regardless of how nice their styling is compared to other German rivals I will never buy another Mercedes Benz. There is not one nice word to associate the brand or the individuals who represent it. They will find any way to deny warranty or responsibility. We need to buy and drive cars where they support us regardless of mods or how we drive our cars. BMW and Porsche understand this because they always were drivers cars.

Someone should start a thread and leave it open for EVER posting complaints as such so MBUSA can reflect on.

I'm a little lost on the $3700 rotor issue. Rotors for the E55 are a couple hundred bucks. you should be able to get all 4 wheels done for $1k or so

E63, SL 550 Sport,C63 Coupe On the Way!!
Dealer quoted me around the same $3700 before I found out about the 63 brake TSB which they still didnt fix, I was willing to even do the brakes myself beacuse of the aggravation until I realized how expensive they were, I think the rear pads are the cheapest part as well the rear rotors the front rotors were over 1k each I think when I checked back in December.
tack on dealer labor etc so your at the same rape mark!

***UPDATE***

the "inspector" was not amg types like i was told but the amg sepcialist in the shop. my sa said he will NOT flag the car. produced a doc from the mbz warranty policy and procedures manual date 1/2000, chap 4, page 3. Brake Discs: Coverage-None. Replacement of brakes discs is considered an owner maintenance item. Ie. if youre hard on your brakes yours will wear out faster. But when he left the room went through the shop copy of my invoice and the last page said discs covered 12m/12k. Hmmm... told me back brakes were mainly the culprit hence the powerbraking comment. so new rear rotors are $95 each plus pads. told me mbz is harder than ever for non-typical warranty claims and would inspect the rotors and see they were superheated. damn, i really like this guy cause he goes above and beyond for me. free details, free mbz loaners, free drop offs and pick ups, free key batts etc. but this all sounds a little fishy. now these rotors were warped BAD. this is the friggin kicker. drove it home and cant even detect it now. what the hell is going on???

hesitation issue. was told it will do this while cold to protect the engine under acceleration??? im talking my car wont move for 1/2 second. i dont know what to think anymore. may take it to another dealer, upgrade brakes or just see what happens. thanks for listening.
