Here is the response from Redline looks to be good!:

Hi, Our wheels are made by hand. The quality of the leather are even better than those of stock ones. The quality will not be the problem for you. The only one will be the shifters. We will need your shifters to modify the holes for you and it will take about 10-14 days to receive the new steering wheel ( no extra charge for it ). If you are interested in our products, we can send you more pictures of the details. Please leave us your email for them. Thank you for mailing us. Merry Christmas!

Here is the last email from redline seems like they will do a great job and cover everything everyone wants and its $399.

"Hi,

Sorry for the delay.
We are trying to put the steering wheel on a W211 and took the picture
for you.
Please check the attached pictures, one is the wheel in leather
installed and the other is the wheel in birdseye installed.
We can make it any color of Mercedes for you.

Thank you for mailing us.
Merry Christmas.

By the way! If you ship the shifters within 2-3 days with EMS, we will
try to finish it before Christmas for you."

And pictures below...

Many thanks for your help.

I haven't got the paddles yet but I did pull out the button off my PM wheel, can't see why I can't just cut the wires and solder the new switch wires in? rather than stripping the airbag out which is a big worry for me!

Okay, my nerves are in pieces, I've got my e63 paddles, I tried them with the inbuilt e63 electrics and yes your right they don't work.
So I've split the paddles open and used a dremel to bore out both paddle metal, paddle back, then removed the e55 button, split it, filed of the circuit board to fit, up shift only so far.
That's it for now, need a glass on wine, will finish tomorrow!
Not looking forward to cutting the wheel the make the new paddles fit, any pictures of this would be very helpful

Paddle Shift AMG
Paddle Shift AMG I lost the blade (+ up)
Hello, I have seen that you change blades... old .las you have
to see the right paddle circuit scheme (+ up) leads a resistance of 100ohm. do me need to see the schema to weld the resistance and repair the circuit thank you

Molino el plástico en la medida de lo posible para maximizar la profundidad y empuje el interruptor de valores recortada en su lugar con el muelle interior.

Prueba unas cuantas veces con un multímetro para asegurarse de que los contactos correctamente y vuelva a armar.
