Well, in addition to the 300+ lb weight reduction (12 pound Sparco CF seats, removal of all sound deaoning materials, removal of all trunk lining material, full Ti, yes TITANIUM bolt replacments througout the car wherever applicable, an 11.3 pound Braille CF battery, new light weight 2 piece rotors at all four corners and a few more misc things) there are a few goodies going on the engine that should boost RWHP by a minimum of 20hp to as much as 35hp.

I guess you are all going to have to wait for the outcome of this one...Like I said earlier, I'm not drivng 170 miles to loose!

 

Bro, first of all my car was tuned to run on race fuel and only runs on race fuel, sorry to disapoint you. Yyou obviously don't know me, but none of my vehicles stay in any constant state of tune, they are always evolving. Why would I be content with 502rwp when I know I can get 535 for a few thousand bucks more? 2 months from now the car will have an additional 20hp beyond that and in November when I ship it back to Evosport for a full CF ram air hood, cams and a CF drive shaft we are talking an entirerly different ball game. Sorry if I disapointed you , but as the other poster stated why would I want to bring a car up there that is 600 plus pounds heavier than yours with 30 less HP? That would be a waste of my time and my gas, we all know the outcome of that race before it would happen. Now with these mods we are looking at an apples to apples race,

No dissapointments here, brutha. If I really wanted to, I could install a quick a 100 shot for $400 and have a 140 mph trapping car in 1 hr. But, this is now what this race was supposed to be about. This was about me racing you and proving to everyone that a 500 rwhp benz will be NO WHERE NEAR a 520 rwhp Z06. If the original poster claims that his 500 rwhp Benz DESTROYED a 450 rwhp Z06, that implys that 520 rwhp Z06 will be a good race with a 500 rwhp Benz, right? This is what I was after and wanted to disprove.

Like I said, do what you want to your car before the race, I don't care. Win or lose, I just want to race and I am looking forward to it. I wish it could be sooner.

I would prefer to do this on a road course as well, however most peoples drvings skills are not up to par, therefore it would not be a relavent test of machinery, it would only show who was the better driver. A good driver in a 320hp BMW 335i could beat an average driver in a 500hp Z06. I would be more than happy to race him at Gingerman Raceway or Grattan, both of which are in his backyard.

 

I have road raced around the corners by my house. That's about all the road racing I have done..

 

...and I have logged literally thousands of miles on race tracks over the years. So that should prove my point to RYANO; this thread is a debate over the cars performance, not of that of the drivers.

It is actually no more silly than this entire thread. It started out as Z vs E55. Now its your 63 all modded out.

You have 2 entirely different cars with 2 different functions. It you match hp and weight its all going to come down to gearing. How is that a "performance" test? My gears are a better ratio for my particular motor, so I have a better car?

It's a silly arguement that makes less sense the more pages it goes.

Try not to kill any families while you are out "racing" on the public streets.

I'm never one to turn down a good money race, but I think this one is going to be just for the fun of it... unless he wants to make it interesting, that's his call.

 

ssshhh, don't let the cat out of the bag on the tranny/gearing thing. These Z06 guys don't have any clue how fast my 7 speed automatic can upshift...theres not a human on earth that can hit shifts as fast and smooth as my car can. That's why I told him he would be better off tryng to get me from a dead stop and getting the holeshot on me and making me try to run him down. It's much easier to use a clutch and throttle to modulate power delivery as opposed to relying solely on the throttle like I have to do with my automatic. Like I said, I'm not driving 170 miles to lose.

 

I understand your point if they were going to race from point A to point B 10 mies away weaving through heavy traffic but pulls on an empty stretch of hwy in a well maintained, high performance car does not put anyone at risk. And it's darn good fun.

 

Its not necessarily about shift speed. Its about how close the ratios are and how well they suit your power band. But you get the point.

Besides. How does going up against a modded car prove anything about cars?

Its futile.

I can't afford to lose more money. I am still behind on my 15 yrs, 0% financing on my Z06..
