VRP 675 vs Kleemann 4+ Heavy Weight Bout Results!!!!
Roland,
I hope you got a great deal on those because Kleemann Cams = Schrick off the shelf profile cams = 7rwhp or 8rwhp.. We dyno'd them. Unless they have a new version that came out, those ones are not going to give you much more power.
On another note.. this will be great.. If you and Lee get together at the drags we'll see a head to head comparison of the Kleemann vs VRP setup.
Well, last night Lee and I both went to New England Dragway last night. You couldn't ask for a better night for dragging. The track was in great condition and the Density Altitude was perfect. I just had my CAMS installed 1 hour before I showed up at the track.
I SMASHED my personal best last night. I ran an 11.470 with a trap of 122.16 and a personal best 1.682 60'. I have included the time scan for authenticity and review. I finally have achieved my goal of breaking 11.5. BTW, they did not kick me off the track either. Just a few thumbs up and a betta not do that again or else.
RT .443
60' 1.682
1/8 7.387
MPH 95.14
1/4 MPH 122.16
1/4 ET 11.470
Based on DRAGTIMES POSTED time slips for E55's, I am now the 6th fastest E55 on record with or without NOS and the 3rd fastest ET without NOS. I am extremely pleased with my set up and I owe a lot of it to my mechanics at ELITE MOTORS right down the street from my home. Fantastic job you guys. My car set up is runing very strong and NO CEL ISSUES AT ALL. The CAMS are just right for my set up.
I would like to give a special thanks to an individual who will go nameless for helping me achieve my goal of breaking 11.5. I owe you brotha BIGTIME. You know who you are.
As far as the VRP 675, Lee's wagon had problems last night. His transmission selector was not working and couldn't get a good burnout last night, although, he did post 1.952 60' last night. If you look at the time slips, where we went HEADS UP, we were pretty close in times.
I know once Lee gets his set up straightened out, we will have another HEAVY WEIGHT BOUT. Lee is a stand up guy and a great competitor. I am in awe everytime I see his wagon go down the track. Lee's friend filmed all our runs last night, so perhaps Lee can post them up or somehow we can get them up for showing.
And for those wondering what my DYNO is currently with my set up is, the answer is I DON"T KNOW and I DON'T CARE. The TRUTH lies at the TRACK!!

Sounds like you guys had alot of fun.
Something is definitely wrong with Lee's car because the trap is too low... We'll have to get it sorted out and get you guys back to the track to retest.
Kleemann 1, VRP 0

Your car is running very strong, and that is an awesome 60ft.

So much for "Kleemann cars are slower due to smaller pulley" arguement.
Way to kick tail Roland!!

Sounds like a blast, though.
Take care man...
How did I ever forget to give you credit. There is no way I would have run an 11.470 without that old, rickety, bent, rusted ole Kleemann pulley you sold me.

Thanks bro and good luck with the emmissions.......

Now get that BEAST fixed and get'er out again.
Having just installed your cams 1 hour before you showed up at the track is crazy. You probably made a faster ET when you raced to get to the track. lol
Do you have the stock LSD?
I SMASHED my personal best last night. I ran an 11.470 with a trap of 122.16 and a personal best 1.682 60'....
We had similar weather in Michigan that night and I also went to the local track in search of a new personal best time. Unfortunately the track closed early and I arrived late so there was only time for a single run. But rather than the run of my dreams I wound up breaking the tires loose on launch and had to back off the throttle.
Congrats on your runs, though! Awesome times!
Ya I was running with the DR's.
I asked Albert what tires to run with since he is "the man" when it comes to running at the track with our E55's. Although, if the track is still not prepped right, like the first two weeks this year, it doesn't matter what you have, the tires will break loose.
Problem with more HP and TQ, is to get it to the tires without breaking loose. That's where a lot of practice and experimentation takes place. To me, it gets harder to launch and get a great 60' with more modifications.
You can have a 675 HP BEAST, but if you don't know how to launch, you can get beat by someone with a lot less HP. Experience makes a HUGE difference in running at the track with high HP TQ BEASTS.
Take care Bro....

Long time no hear. Brotha, I am anxious for you and Jim to get your beasts on the track. I have no doubt with your set up you will do better than 11.470. Is the heat a problem already out there. One nice thing about New England Dragway, it still feels like winter here so it makes for great Density Altitude.
Good luck with your maiden run with your new CAMS man>>>>>

What's your method of launching it?
