hey all. Was hoping to get some suggestions from you all. I have an 07 e63 with the stock 18" wheels on it. My tire size is 265-35-18
I would like to get a set of 2 drag radials for my car and would like to stay the same size.seems like I can find 275-40-18 bt not in the same sie that is already on that tire. Any suggestions? What are you all doing for rear drag radials? Just want to obviously get the rear 2 so I can switch out when i goto track.

Tire Rack sells BF Goodrich Comp T/A Drag Radials in a 275/35-18 size. That's what I have. Mount them on a set of lightweight, inexpensive Kosei rims ($200 each) and you are done. Just make sure those idiots send you the centering rings and lugs with the wheels/tires.

+2...those were sticky bad boys...I had them on the stock rear rims and made a big difference at the dig. Like you probably already know...just don't get caught in rain and standing water!

Will these tires be drag race only? I really liked my BFG d/r's but am gonna try the Mickey Thompson ET street drag radials next.

I have an almost brand new pair of 275/35/18 Toyo R888 tires if anyone is interested in them. It rubs on my car so I need to sell them or get wheels with a different offset

I have some of the MT's on the drag wheels (CCW Classics) that I bought off Rflow...I haven't put them on the car yet but if Rflow could break 11s in them I like them a lot!

As far as the BFG's, they were good with everyday driving and great for those short digs, but mighty scary in the wet esp. with the hp were are putting out...

Can you tell me what size wheels/tires you run with the CCW's or is that a secret? Any idea on weight?

Thanks. I wonder if that tire/wheel combo is lighter than going with a 17 or 18" lightweight wheel with less tire I know the sidewall on that setup would allow a wrinkle wall but thats when stuff starts breaking

Question:

If I buy a set up with 18's and BFGs drags on them, will I be able to drive to the track with this? I currently have 20's on my CL and plan on track days putting the 18's in the back. Will this hurt my car? It is a pain to swap them at the track and then figure out where to leave the 20's. Sorry to throw this offtopic, but this has been lingering on my mind.

Not sure really. maybe someone else can enlighten us. i would think as long as your overall diameter of the wheel is close to the same with the tires on it that it shouldnt be a big deal for trips like that to the track. Probably not a good idea all the time.

ok so back to my origional post about this Radial drag thingy.
Since it appears that I cant find a drag radial in my exact tire size which is 265-35-18 and i end up using 275-35 or 40-18 will my times suffer as a result of going to a larger tire? I realize its not much but I would think every little bit counts

I used to drive on my BFG's daily. You wont have a problem. Try to avoid rain and if caught in rain take it easy on the gas pedal

yeah i was thinking about just buying 2 for the rear and putting them on for the summer. Guess i would be mismatched front to back but as long as I got good dry traction that is fine with me. Just will have to take it slow with the rain.

Looks like your 265/35 has only a minimal tire size difference with the 275/35 thats available for the M/T's


Be warned M/T's are super sticky.. They pick up anything and everything the road has to offer.. Which includes gravel which gets flung back onto your lower bumper with authority.. Also the sticky compound makes for a VERY short life span.. With that being said the M/T's IMO opinion are hands down the baddest Drag Radial on the market!!

I only see 8 inch wide rims for Kosei T1-S's. Are the 9.5 width inch rims gone?

thats correct, they had 18x9's but they sold out. I told EVERYONE to buy them. I still have mine, by far the cheapest and lightest rim you find for a drag wheel for the money.

Do you all think this will be a problem? Currently the front tires have a profile of 40, the back comes with 35. if I put 40's on the back too is this a problem? What negative affects can I expect if anything?

Darn...Doesn't look like there are any drag radials designed for an 18x8 inch rim...just auto X R compounds. Wonder if they are any good at the strip.

Has anyone used to Nitto NT555R drag radials? I had the BFG's on my M3 but they werent too good for daily driving.
