What air pump is this that we are talking about?

Jakpro, I am not sure if there are 2 relays for the secondary air pump (kinda looks like if you compare MB wiring diagrams and the campaign info for the secondary air pump relays on kompressor engines) but the relay I always replaced for the air pump problem was the one specified by the campaign.
Depending on what your production date/chassis code is the secondary air injection pump relay for the E55 is actually under the fresh air intake for the a/c system by the starter battery, or in the trunk behind the right side trunk liner panel.
Chassis code 803/804 (model year 03'/04') is under the fresh air intake by the starter battery.
Chassis code 805 (model year 05') is behind the right trunk liner panel. It is the relay that is held in with the white clips not the yellow ones.
Replace the relay and the pump. And check the fuse (#61 big orange 40amp in the drivers side front fuse box).
No cleaning of any valves needed on the 112/113 engines, that pretty much only applies to the old 104 (inline 6) engines.
