Thanks for sharing

Personal favorite was the old school Pantera keeping up to the Viper down the straight away, even if he had NO chance to make the first turn. Who says old Ford's never die!

See yeah

The guy had to be on the juice down the final straight, and wasn't one of the rules that you had to run OE tires?

No longer stock '06 E55, A3 3.2 Quattro, LRD4 HSE, R107 280SL
Almost all had slicks on it seems ...

But I dunno what the 996 had under the lid but it must have been some giggle juice no way you pull on theat 620 techart like that with traditional mods....

Any clues as to what mods were done to the 996? I had no sound when I watched...

It's life started out being built at protomotive where it had around 1000hp to the wheels, however protomotive damaged his turbo so he decided to take it to the next level. He pulled his 996 from protomotive and sent it to tuning technologies, where they built it to completion. It obviously has bigger turbos, rebuilt engine, intercoolers. I know he had HRE build him special custom wheels for the event, however he seemed to be running different wheels when they showed his car. It has many carbon fiber pieces... Ceramic coated turbo housings, carbon fiber rear diffuser, GT35R turbos 60-130 takes 3 seconds. Word is he also has a 3000hp street camaro, and a 1600rwhp supra.. That's all I know.

That's a lot of info!

Not much more to be found here, but he's supposedly over 1,000hp.

Killer concept and ABOUT TIME!!

Only wish they could put stockers up against each other and see what they would do.

Audi R8 VS Gallardo etc.

Guess it's lower budget show though. You tape who shows up.

Loved it!!!!

Correct, he is well over 1,000hp. I have seen dyno sheets posted that show around 1400-1500 on the bottle with turbos pushing almost max boost.

+1 on stock vs stock

Gallardo is going to take down an R8, those audis are not fast. However, Gallardo is off the pace compared to the 997TT and F430, in my opinion.

Yes, I am sure. 3 seconds flat... Imagine being inside at speed... crazy. Alex is no lightweight when it comes to modding.

Was he on the bottle for the race?
I thought it was for street legal, non bottle cars?

Oh wait, 1,500hp out of a Porsche engine? 3.6? 3.8?
Nahhhhhh, can't be ... can it?

That pull at the end had to be N2O induced. Looked like 60-130 in 3 sec is about right looking at that run.

Just sick. No fair, talk about bringing a .45 to a boxing match.

Yeah, I was kind of thinking that myself. Would you be able to get enough traction to the ground to do that?

Anyway, cool concept except for the night part. I thought that sucked a little from a viewer's perspective.

Speaking of traction or the lack there of, Alex's turbo is rwd. It does have those slicks though.

I'll take the 997 TT even if its slower.

That body kit is sweet!!!

The 996TT monster.. is just plain too dangerous if only RWD.

He even said that he wants to see Alexs' engine after the race was over. LOL He was all smile on the outside but inside he was probably going #@$@%$#% at that 996. LOL

Small confession, I feel his pain. It would tear me up to have built the more "sophisticated" machine and just get annihilated by pure power.
