After my lack luster performance last week at the drags I'm headed back. If any one In Arizona want to bring there benz out and hit the strip lets get something together. Firebird raceway on Friday or Speedworld on Saturday I dont care what track. I will bring my camera and get some video too. I will post this in the other AMG areas on the board.

might be heading to reno for the weekend so i'll have to play it by ear. it's hard to get excited about running in 100+ degree heat and knowing you have no chance of setting any records!

Well, when I landed in Phoenix after coming back from Vegas Sunday night at around 8pm, it was 100 degrees. Are we getting a cold front coming in for Friday or Saturday?

Anyway, I doubt I would run due to the heat like Mikey mentioned, but I could probably talked in to stopping out Friday night!

we're supposed to have a high of 104f so i don't think it will cool down to 85 in time for most of our runs but i'll try to make it if i can.

so...how did you do last week?

lol, yeah...it SUCKS!

i'm probably down close to 100hp because of the heat. my runs were over 6/10ths and 7mph off of my ussual (although i was running with almost 1/2 a tank of gas and on street tires...even ran with the a/c on 2 out of 4 runs).

no problem...nobody else was there either.

track prep was minimal in the right lane and nonexistent in the left. temps were in the 90's the entire time i was there and i only ran a few times out of boredom. i doubt i'll go back until winter...it's way too damned hot!!!!!

So now you're down to ~ 550 at the wheels and running right around a 12 flat on street tires. You should be embarassed and ashamed.

Did you end up getting the airbox?

Yep, me too. I was thinking of going over to Floored Fabrications as Chris had told me he could do a split loop for my cooling loop for about $400 or so. That would be the only mod I would consider in the coming months. The heat here can be oppressive!

I believe it. A fellow board member had this race temperature box thing and he was showing me last night at Speedworld the temp and conditions was like racing at 4500ft elevation. The best i got was a 13.2 in my C55 mostly 13.4's at 108mph I would bet I would bet i would be in the high 12's with all my mods on a cool night. Would be nice if we could just shoot cold air in to our intakes. Arizona this time of year sucks to drag race.
