I just tried to install but I'm having trouble gaining access through the wheelwell. The problem is that my fender seems to be pinned to the wheelwell with a rivet instead of the screws that everyone seems to mention removing. I removed the clip underneath the fender (BTW, seems like that's going to be a real pain to get back on), and I still can't pry the wheel liner far enough away to get my hand in there because of the "rivet" almost directly behind the side marker. I don't want to break it so I just may have the dealership do it this week when i bring it for an alignment

Yeah, its a rivet type clip on mines too. Look closely and there's 2 circles on the "rivet." use a flathead and pry the smaller circle out a bit, once it's out a bit, use pliers and pull the inner circle out, once the inner circle is out, the outter circle one should be able to be pulled out. There's also one of these under the bumper right at the corner, once you get these 2 "rivets" out, you should be able to pull the lining back enough to put your hand and a plier in there.

I made a google search to see if I can find a pic to help you get a better idea and the "rivets" are basically these type of clips

So pull the inner tab out and the outter should come out too. Hope that helps or makes sense.

Oner123 was on the money with his tip on the rivets. I just pulled out the center with a flat headed screwdriver and the whole thing just popped out. You do not have to undo the clip underneath the bumper to get access, only the screw/rivet just behind the side marker. Once I got access it was a very easy install. Just grab the clips in the back with a pair of pliers, wiggle and push and the light should pop right out. The smoked markers look much much better on my flint grey car. I'm extremely happy that I did not go with the clear ones...Wifey has the camera in her purse so I'll try to take pics when she gets home later.

Wow, it looks PERFECT on gray colors....

I think I'll end up painting mine a little darker to match the black.

That looks great teolax. My CLS is black so I might try clear markers to see how it looks. If I don't like it, I will paint it since it looks like the tint sidemarkers are not that dark anyways. Looks good on your car though.

Yeah, my car is flint grey. They could be a touch darker and they would be perfect, but overall I'm very happy with them. Especially for $60...

Thanks for the feedback guys.

I finally got to installing my clear markers this past weekend. All I can say is what a pain in the a**!!!

The left marker popped off somewhat easily, but the right marker would not budge. After about a hour and a bloody knuckle, I was about to give up. But by some miracle, the side marker finally came off...although it cracked in the process

I've ordered the chrome bulbs and will install them when they arrive. One thing I noticed is that I can remove/install the clear markers pretty easily...unlike the OEM markers. Any one else notice this? I'm wondering if this will result in a looser fit and lead to water/moisture issues.

That being said, I do like the look over the stock orange

I like the clears one better than the smoked on your white car... My new ones snapped in pretty snugly. Did you use the old backing or the one that came with the new lights?

I really like the smoked markers and think they look perfect on grey. But I agree, I'm not sure how they would look on a white car.

Hmm, I used the old backings. I guess I'll check again once the chrome bulbs arrive.

i'm putting clears on my white car. i'm also having the originals color-matched and i'll decided which look i prefer. i don't think the smoked ones would look good unless you had a lot of other dark accents.

How are you color matching it? I'm thinking of getting a Flint Grey (my car color) spray of some kind and spraying over the yellow ones. Do you guys think it would work or will it come out sloppy and non-professional? I've seen people paint over with black color but haven't seen anybody with grey do that... Thanks for the help.

+1. I've heard it is very cheap to paint them.

The only reason I went with the new backings is because I was having trouble getting the new light to hook up into the front of the old backing. Once I changed out the backing to the new one, it snapped in much easier. Good luck.

change the side markers and the lamps or just the side marker?

for those who got the side markers from the ebay seller, did you guys replace the lamp with the silver coat lamps that came with the side markers or just the side markers?
