E63 sidemarker HELP!!!
Hey guys,
I'm sure somebody here has experience taking off their bumper sidemarkers on their E63, so I need some tips/help with it.
I ordered smoked sidemarkers for my E63 and they looked pretty easy to install. Looks like you pry from one end and it should come out.
So I tried to pry from the smaller end side and it wouldn't budge, the front reflector actually made a slight cracking sound and that wasn't good. So I put my hand in the wheel well and pushed the two tabs together and tried to push it out from the back side. It still wouldn't budge.
I then tested on the smoked ones how to take it off, I pried it from the smaller side with a bit of force and it popped off. So I thought that's not too bad then, let me try to pry the orange ones off my car again with a bit more force and then POP!
So that's where I'm at, have a good laugh at it, cus I did!!!
But yeah, any of you guys that actually did it can lend a clue on how to take it off is greatly appreciated?
Thanks

I'm sorry this might not be much help, but when I asked the local body shop, he told me that they push it from inside out like you just did
By the way, where did you purchase those smoked side markers, they look awesome. Please provide link.
Thanks.......

after several attempts on mine, i went to autozone and bought this driver with thin sharp hook... sneaked that in towards the wheel side of the sidemarker and just pulled it out... it was so easy with the right tool... GL!

I swapped mine out. You have to remove a couple of screws from the front inner fender lining to access the back of the lamp assembly. You should then be able to stick a pair of needle nose pliers to assist with squeezing the two tabs together. I had to wiggle mine a bit while squeezing and then the light housing pops out. Mine did not come out willingly, I did have to wiggle a bit.

I went in from the wheel well. Simply turn your tire away from the direction you are working on, remove about three screws (one inner fender well, two front bottom of fender well holds fender to front bumper.)

As some of you guys have suggest, yes, the easiest way is to push it out from the inside of the wheel well. I took off a clip on the bottom corner of the well and one somewhat behind the reflector and pulled the lining back a bit to gain access. I then used pliers and wiggled it back and forth til it came lose. It is not easy. But here's the pics of it on.
I think it looks definitely better then the orange reflectors, but I wish it was a bit darker. I think it'll look great on a gray E63. I'll probably end up tinting it a bit more or painting it body color down the line.

I ordered the smoked ones. I should have them any day if you want to hold off ordering and I will take pics when I install since we have the same color...

I got them yesterday but I haven't had a chance to install them yet. Maybe tonight if I don't get home too late. However, I can definitely say that you should go with the smoked. I held up the new smoked ones next to my car and I can tell they are going to be sweet.

I'd also like to see pictures of them on your car. My car is black and I'm kind of hesitant that they'll look too light on a black car

I'll post some up after I get them installed. You probably would be better off painting yours to match the body color, but then again anything is better than the stock orange ones...
