E55 in service.$550 to replace front brakepads.good deal?
Took the 55 for the service MB Escondido.
It need the front brake pads all installed $550 and torque strut bushing-front suspension? (wornout-car has 33k miles) $755 installed.
Do you think the price sounds right?

I installed a set of front pads myself a few weeks ago, went with Porterfield. It was easier than my wife CLK 430.
Push pins out, remove clamp, slide old pads out, push brake piston back, install new pads, put the clamp back, and push the two pins back in. 1 hr max.

brakes are just simply brakes.. our cars are not a limited edition super car.
just by the pads from the dealer and the sensor.. shop around your nearby shops and ask them how much to pop in.
its no rocket science.
You also don't need new rotors.. most of the time.. you can have them turned for around $7 each.
just because are brakes pads and rotors are bigger.. it does not mean you have to pay more.
about torque front bushing suspension... I would ignore it. They are just taking your money. I would ask them to show what it is and take a picture and shop around to get that done.
your will not fall apart if you don't do it.

To be honest with you, I'd never go to the dealer to do non-warranty work. A good independent ASE MB mechanic can do the same job at a lower cost. If you buy the pads (ex. porterfields) and take them for the install, there shouldn't be any lower quality of service if you go non-dealer. It's not a difficult job.
If you want to get raped on labor charges...go to the dealer. They will have a smile on their face when they bend you over.

And I have a jack and all the tools you'd need at my office. Maybe we should have a bbq and show you how easy pads and even rotors are to swap out.
This doesn't replace the pressing of the fluid from time to time. I do mine annually just because, but you can do what you like.

Dealers in general are going to bend you over, and not even give you a kiss. I have seen instances of where $100 and up is added markup on a part, that is insane. No way to justify it.

My rears were changed about 7 months ago and the fronts about 1 month ago so I should be good for awhile. I raised the question for myself only for future needs.
It is good to know that there are DIY guys down this way though.

That's according to a dealers parts department. Big difference when you get the pads ordered yourself. This goes across the board with any MB part. I have bought MB parts for much less, and it's the same part.

We can do it anytime you guys want. The pads are easy as **** to swap. Its a bigger pain just to lift the corners. I've got all the tools we'd need. All you guys need to bring is new pads, rotors (if you are swapping), and some new sensors. I'll bring some beer to watch you guys!!!

Give The Wheel Supply a call, they are in Walnut, closer to you than LA, they work on alot of regular Mercedes or AMG cars, it will be much cheaper and closer for you. Or just like other members said, buy the pads and do it yourself, it's not that hard. GL
