Pheno Spacers w/ CF Box
I finally installed my Evosport phenolic spacers yesterday. Very easy to do... remove the intake tubes, remove the airbox (it just lifts out after disconnecting the crankcase vent hose), remove the torx bolts from the tanks, loosen the clamps at the rear and voila.
I was concerned b/c there was information posted that the c/f airboxes may or may not work as a result of surge tanks/intake manifolds sitting higher due to the increased spacer thickness. The RT box uses the OE box lower portion, so I simply removed the rubber grommits and it fit like a champ.
I also took the time to clean the tb and the rest of the compartment, re-painted the tanks/manifolds, and wrapped the intake tubes. Friday I head to Chris at Floored Fab to install a new FMIC w/split circuit. I will post data log results after w/ IAT's.

I've always been curious about the phenolic spacers. I realize that they keep the tops of the charge air tubes cooler, but wouldn't that just be due to the spacers not allowing the heat to transfer to the tops of the tubes. In turn keeping more heat down at the bottom of of the intake tubes and cylinder heads. It seems to me that they could possibly even hinder performance by not allowing the heat transfer.
If there's something I'm not seeing here please inform me as I've always been curious about this.

So, I would also think that separating that surface area of the surge tanks would allow the other areas that I had mentioned to heat soak even faster.
And, seeing that the last place that the air passes through is the short runners below the surge tanks and the cylinder heads themselves, wouldn't this render the spacers innefective, if not counter-productive?

The air coming out from intercooler is around 30-40F above ambient. Lets say 110F. The surge tanks are typically 30-40F below coolant temperature - 160-170F.
Thus air out of intercooler ends up cooling surge tanks. When spacers are installed the surge tanks end up around 120-130F, very close to IAT.
As far as extra heat, it get taken care of cooling system, which has a lot of reserve capacity.

IAT's today were between 16F above ambient at cruising to 34F above after a WOT burst. It took about a minute of cruising to get back to normal. Traffic did not allow back to back WOT runs.
New HE and pump w/ split circuit go in tomorrow. Plenty of WOT runs planned for tomorrow and will report the numbers.
