I am so glad it was not the E63

This is one of three.
Lady turned in front of me on a 2 lane divided highway. She thought she had a green arrow. I had enough time while the ABS was going full on to confirm with the passenger that our light was actually green.
Person behind us saw all as well and left his number.
It was all slow motion. All of a sudden she pulls out and I start moving right to avoid. She does not stop. "Is the light green". "Yes!!!". I hit her on her front right and my front left. Everything in front of the mounting wall for the radiator I sheared off of her car. My car deflected right still going straight and stopped against the barrier. It went right between the 2 6x12inch posts.
I am guessing we hit at about 40MPH my speed + her 10-15MPH.
She got lucky (or we all did) because of the way I hit her. Her car spun 360 and was pushed back about 20ft. She got a cut and bruised left knee. I got an airbag slap on the left arm a bump on the knee, and a little bit of a sore neck. We will see how it feels in the AM. My commute buddy in my passenger seat got his left ankle sprained bad.
I had just taken my wheels from the E in to get straightened due to a rushed ham fisted tire change. Thank God they were not in the back of the car to turn into 4 - 75lb projectiles.
Now I wonder how my car insurance will react when I say I need a rental because my other car is in the shop?
This WAS a 2001 Volvo V70 T5 with 100500 miles on it. Me thinks it is totalled. Hmm. What to get for a commute vehicle? I sure would like a station wagon again. Maybe I will check out a 04/05 E320/E350 wagon or BlueTec. Or a Prius.......
This sucks dead donkey d!cks.

It's always the other driver, man that sucks but atleast you are ok and you're hear to tell us about it. I always tell my son who is 16, it's not him that I'm worried about it's the other drivers that worry me.

The most dangerous and deadly maneuver in the left hand drive world, is a left turn. 70% of the people on the road don't realize this fact.
80% of drivers don't have comprehension of the most basic rules of the road, right of way being the most misunderstood.
Glad you are OK, never trust a car in the left turn lane.

Glad to hear your OK!!!
Jon: Years ago a friend of mine was moving some office equipment and got into a similar accident. A typewriter flew forward and killed the driver while barely missing the passenger. Count your blessings on not having those wheels in the back! Good luck and get well soon!

glad you are ok man - as someone else said, it's just a car. Get at many uninvolved witness statements as possible. I was involved in a crash a while back. Some idiot hit someone and pushed them into me and a couple other people and had it not been for the witness statements I would have been out of pocket big $$$. Again, glad you're ok and it wasn't your 63 !!

First, thanks for all your well wishes. I am a little sorer today, but not unduly so. I can now feel where the belt dug into my collar bone, but still minor. Really concerned about the stiff neck getting worse with time.
As for the comment above, that has been on my mind. The car did in fact do it's job well. It did not get great mileage and so my thoughts are turning to a commute vehicle. On the other hand, I do not need to get a T5. A 2004/5 wagon with the standard engine and a manual tranny might be just the thing.
Thanks again all. The E will be on it's reconditioned wheels on Friday.

Now a little venting.
The "lady" in the car at fault had a banged up left knee and it was mildly bleeding. For all that, it was most important for her to get out of her car and inform me that the left turn light was green.
Given the absolute certainty of the fact my light was green, I just sat back in my seat and said "I'm sure it will all get figured out".
You know, I am sure she thought she had a light, but WRONG!!!
