SoCal dyno tune day?

Looking into renting a dyno for the day and taking some dataloggers, etc. along for some data collection. It would be nice to get a mix of cars. the cost is low, basically $80 each for ten cars and that will give us the dyno ALL day. You can do full pulls, pulls through gears, etc. and get all of the data. I am looking at one near the beach so that future runs will be slightly consistent. I have seen a few in Carlsbad / Oceanside and thought that would be a good midway point for everyone. Holla at me if you might be down and I'll arrange it. i will likely do it again in a few weeks to see if Vadim and Powerchip can use the data toadd a tweak.

Not sure about the datalog we will use, but I have a friend who has one. We may also bring one that has its own sensors that we would have to mount, but they would tell if the car's sensors are right and also have a much higher data rate.

Alright guys, my car is back and done. i will be verifying the 505hp and also seeing what a few changes to the intake do (if anything). Is everyone elses car ready for dynoing? I will call monday to set it up and post options and pricing. My preference is to give them a $1000 and take the shop for the day. That would be 10 of us at $100 each, but we could decide how to run the dyno all day. Also, they have a small shop with lift and said we could use it for inbetween dyno mods.

Alrighty fellas. I have contacted three dyno shops here in town and all are good to go. 1 specializes in supercharged 5.4 liter ford motors, so makes me wonder if we can learn?

I'd like to make sure we get some tuner vs tuner runs going so that we can have some real numbers about the "best" tuners and with which models.

I'm planning to begin exhaust part fabrication on monday and should have it all by next week. They are all interchangeable so we can test x pipes, etc and see what the dyno says.

My car is almost entirely stock aside from K&N filters and I had my x-pipe welded in almost 3 weeks ago so my car might be a good candidate for basic numbers (or lack thereof) due to an x-pipe. That way any positive/negative results cannot be blamed on anything else.

Any date yet?

No, I'll get some optional dates from them all. I assume we must get a weekend? They are harder to come by but I'll get it.

To add to my earlier post.. I'm also gonna take the car back to RPM and have them cut out that dorky h-pipe section by the cats that way I'll have a true dual exhaust with a single crossover section. I'll be the guinea pig I guess
