Yep but Porsche were not too keen on that becoming too "public". One legand of Le Mans , Derek Bell, had a run in a 997GT2 and he said he thinks it could have won Le Mans "a few years back"... I would guess it may need to be more than a few...

I already have an appointment to ship mine to Lingenfelter in Indiana this winter. They did excelent work on my CTS-V. I'm not sure how extreme I am going to go with it, but nothing of mine stays stock. I think about 650 @ the wheels would be fun and from what they tell me easily attainable. They claim 850 @ the wheels would be reliable and streetable enough for every day use??? I guess I would have to see that to believe it, but not on my car!

Has to be embarrassing to AMG, the CTS-V Sedan beat out the track version of their CLK. Now THAT sucks.
Wait for the new M5 to counter the new CTS-V. All will be answered.

With 650rwhp in a Vette, you have limited traction, but it is still drivable. Just don't launch it from a dig too hard with street tires and don't turn off T/C. 650rwhp should spin street tires all the way up to 100mph but it's still totally streetable.
Jrcart...lucky b@$tard! Definitely give us the review of your ZR1 MONSTER.

The 7:29 car was "tweaked", it had camber adjustments, lowered ride height, and other non-production suspension settings. I read that the ZR1 was 100% OEM set-up, right down to the tire pressure. Every suspensions setting and adjustment was set as the car will leave the plant in Bowling Green.

Fact of the matter is, there will always be new products coming out that will eek out an advantage from previous generation products and other manufacturers' products - until someone FINALLY introduces a compact plutonium powered reactor in the AMG or the M, or maybe even a Quattro, that produces 1.21 gigawatts...until someone makes one that punches out 1.22 gigawatts...
Kudos to GM for the Corvette ZR1 and the CTS-V, the General needs some goods news these days as its share price lingers slightly above where it stood during the Eisenhower administration.
