Ok, guys.. Hopefully I dont get flamed too bad here... After all, Im not badging up a E350 or anything

What do you think of replacing the "kompressor" badge, with this? Not trying to be an E63, just bored of looking at the V8 komp. badge.. opinions??

My dad just got an 08' E63, and I have to say. The car is awesome.. The same as my 55 in many ways, but better.. Does not pull as hard in the low RPM range.. But interior is much updated. I got 24 more months of my 55 we'll have to see what lies ahead..

i actually like them as seeing them on the 63's looks nice imo...but the seller seems a bit shady to me?

he only has 1 for sale but the ad says you will need to buy 2 for your fenders?

not bad. i think having "55" written in cursive across the entire fender might really make a statement too-the v8 kompressor could continue in the same vain onto the driver and/or passenger door/s. thoughts...too much (even if in smallish type lettering)?

I would not place a fake badge on a high line car such as this one. Many people just take the Komp badge off, certainly an option. The 63 badge "morphed" into a 55 badge seems either lame or somewhat ghetto, certainly to each his own.

i was up in the air on them until they showed up the other day. my car is debadged, and this will be the only thing on it. very dirty car, temporary placement, crappy Blackberry pics, but you can get the general idea.

Heh I got the 3.2 ones. I'm taking the V6 Kompressor off mine, but I'm letting a body shop do it. The V6 badges have been on my car for so long I'm sure it'll leave some imprit given the amount of waxes it's had. I'm sure there has been some manipulation done to the fender.

The argument for lame is debatable, but being ghetto is not. IMO, ghetto is placing those chromed 22" or DUBS badges on an E-class AMG, as well as having spinners and untasteful oversized overweight rims/dubs on the car (like the ones you see on Impalas and Caddys) - To each his own obviously... but tasteless, in my point of view. The 5.5 AMG badges may not be OEM but they're discreet enough and not too bad after all. Plus they look close to original, and honestly it looks fine .

Why? The E63 is actually a 6.2 but it says 6.3 on the side. Would look kinda silly if the numbers didn't match.

Well the way I see it, once you put that . in there, it becomes the engine size.... 5.0 Mustang type stuff. You wouldn't get a 2.8 badge for a Z28, you'd get a 5.7.

i would, but my dig cam is at the office. all that i have at home is my blackberry, sorry. yeah, im happy with them, they came out nice. head over to the c32/c55 board and look up 5.5 Badge Idea for the scoop on them.

+1 Like the 63 engines, yes they are a lttle over 6.2 but since its says 63 the side markers should say 63
And like the 63 the 55 is really a 5.4 but why would anyone be silly enough to have 55 on the back and 54 on the sides...now that would be lame...
thats like telling everyone..ok since you really have a 6.2 change your back and sides to AMG 62...or changing the 55 in back to an AMG 54....you get the point!

IMO I personally like seeing the 55 amg tag on the sides too. Keeps the flow

I personally love the V8 Kompressor badge. The 5.5 not so much, it looks a little busy. Not a terrible idea though.
