I can set up an ATCO rental if there is any interest...

 

I've always wanted to run at ATCO in December, lol, I'm in.

 

iirc atco shuts down in middle of December. Maybe we could set it up for the first weekend of December.

 

I guess it would have to be the 6th (Sat) as PRI is the following weekend.

 

You sure they do weekend rentals? I'm in

 

Me and a couple of my buddies rented ATCO out before, I think it was between 1500-2000 for the day.

 

How many lanes/cars? Was it offseason/weekend?

 

It was both lanes and we went with about 15 cars so the money was not a problem for anybody. Maybe tomorrow ill give them a call and get more information.

 

So they dont charge per car? Its a flat rate of $2k and you get the track with as many cars as you want? That would be AWESOME but I doubt it

 

I'll call tomorrow and find out what days we can get and price.

 

I was thinking about bringing my SLR. I don't think it will rain. You guys forget that even the best weathermen are only batting .500 on precipitation forecasts two days into the week and .350 for 3 days and less than .200 on anything more than 3 days. You're canceling an even based on a report that historically has less than 20% accuracy in that time period. To each his own.

 

Who wants to bet that it doesn't rain on Saturday? Tough call Ahmad, I certainly understand why you're postponing it. But it's gonna suck when I'm outside raking leaves on Saturday when it's 50* and sunny.

Damn you all like to complain! You all want it to be on saturday, we can do that. someone paypal me $4k so I dont come out of pocket when the guys who are complaining about postponing it dont even show up

 

Guys cut Ahmad some slack, a lot of it actually. I've been in his shoes before (putting on a track rental and facing paying the bill out of pocket) and when the planets aren't aligned it sucks. It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't kind of proposition.

How about this. Minimum for this track rental is $4k. If 40 of you want to run this saturday paypal me $104 (paypal fees) each by friday and you can have your track day then. Funny thing is in the past 4 months barely 20 people have paypaled me for a spot I can go to the track every weekend, its not like I dont want to go and I'm trying to keep you guys from going. Jim is a baller, convince him to front the $4k and we can race this saturday! Unfortunately I dont have that kind of money to risk. It's on you guys, all the guys that are complaining about me not taking the risk, its on you now. I'm not doing this to make money, just to have fun.

MAXIMUM of 15 cars.

VHT sprayed full ength in both lanes, add another $1200

AND they have a tech inspection so any cars going faster than 11.5 without a cage will get kicked out.

 

I just came back today from a rental at ATCO.
Had a great time.
Nice track, decent prep.
Not sure how stringent the tech inspection was...

22nd works for me, I am also down for any ATCO rental, I might even be able to get the Saleen out of the garage and cleaned up, 131mph trap with wheel spin the 1st 1/8th is a trip some of you might enjoy seeing.

And give Ahmad a break, he is the one that's gonna have hear the *****ing if it rains on the 15th.

 

You can count me in for ATCO other then Dec 2nd to Dec 13th I'm out of town.

Yep, DC weather has got to be the toughest in the US to predict. We have a saying around here. "If you don't like the weather in DC, stick around a few minutes, it'll change."

It would certainly suck for those that traveled. I just installed one of these in my car so I know Jim and Ahmad were gonna be scared to run me anyway.

 

I've been to Atco track rentals and there was no tech inspection! The rentals were also during the week.

 

You guys are friggin unbeleivable, you can't even get one race weekend completed and you are planning another event. Think a few of you guys cars were not ready and we are all stuck with a weather scapegoat. I have a feeling the weather is gonna be fine this weekend and its gonna rain the following.

 

Thats a pretty big accusation there Jim. Why dont you put your money where your mouth is and cover the $4k instead of having me do it. Talk is cheap. Paypal me the $4k and you can have your track day. Charge people whatever you want to run. Make it happen baller

I'm way ahead of you man, been in talks with 2 tracks tonight, I'm not packin my car away for the winter without setting a few new records. I assume most of you guys can't make it to gainsville though! No rain in the forecast there!
