The Godfather's Anti-Ticket setup

Ok call it what you will, but this is my setup: Valentine 1 with custom slim remote display with custom remote control button, and Uniden BCT-10 police scanner.

Too much going on for me between the suction cups on windshield, the unit above speedo and the unit below the visor.

But, if you like the setup

That didn't make sense. So the cop won't see the radar detector itself? The display is integrated in the rearview mirror, in plain sight of the officer behind you, whereas mine is hidden from view. I don't get the logic...

Yeah I'm not a fan of having the scanner there, but that's the only logical place to put it. I would too rather not have it there.

It doesn't hurt. But no one is immune to tickets, no matter who they are.

does the scanner alert to local police or a lot of alerts to police further away? do you have to listen to it or does it have a alarm for police on the road ahead? how does it work for you? thanks

RE: the display here is his eBay auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/Custom-THIN-Vale...QQcmdZViewItem

His seller ID is agravic

He's a top notch guy. Met him on an occasion as well

This scanner is a bit different. It has an "extender" detector. The CHP is the only agency in CA as far as I know to use extenders. What it is, is that when an officer gets out of a car, radio traffic needs to be transmitted to their shoulder mic. They need to activate that feature from their dash. When they do so, it emits a signal. That signal and any subsequent mic triggers or radio traffic will be picked up by the scanner's "extender" detector within a 3 mile range. So that gives you the approximate location of CHP in a 3 mile range. But when does the officer have this extender turned on? When he's pulled over somebody. So it's somewhat useless, but at the same time, if he's behind you and then it comes on, you know you're getting popped.... then you can evaluate your options lol. I remember once when my buddy was meeting me somewhere and arrived at the location and said "**** I just got popped by CHP and booked it before he could turn around" as he said that, the "extender" detector kicked in, and I knew for a fact, that CHP officer was around looking for him
