Dealer said no Bluetooth upgrade for 05 E55 AMG? WTF!
OK. I've been hunting these forums for answers to get bluetooth running in my 2005 e55 AMG. Please help!
I want the phone book to upload, i/c to display numbers, steering buttons to function, etc...
When I hit TEL on command center, it says no phone module installed.
I left a message with these guys, no return call yet.

What parts do i need for my make/model to get this to work. Thanks in advance.

2005 E55
thats what i was told as well by my mbsa....bummer
my 05 has an 04/05 build date
i guess the best way to check is if your center console has the adapter in the back wall of console as my last 05 did...but that one had the vcf option but not sure if you have to have this option or not...i just know it sucks that i can't add it
especially since five0 will be on the lookout here in ca

I was researching this same thing for my car. I found the thread which listed all the parts needed. I think the total was going to be about $1500 in just parts. I've decided to just live with a headset.

I asked my service adviser, and he said any W211 can be upgraded to bluetooth. If you have the adapter in the center console, it cost $500 to purchase the bluetooth adapter ($300 on e-bay) and you're done. But if you don't have the adapter, it'd cost $3,000 to install the whole hands-free system + bluetooth

The issue I am talking about is the wiring. Either the car has it or not. From what i was told and have seen (behind my armrest), the newer cars were pre-wired. Given that, all you need is to install the puck AND adapter. I don't think any just came with empty adapters, did they?

Just installed the MB bluetooth kit it took less than an hour! Then took it back to the dealer and got it version coded. Works great my car is an 05 e55.
I bought the kit without the voice control from benz with completer kit, the MHI module, and the puck! Very simple wiring in the trunk and in the arm rest.

All the 03 & 04s had, for lack of a better description a "second cell phone" for teleaid and that is the circuit the bluetooth uses. In the 05 - 06 you need to have the phone option installed to work with bluetooth (MHI). Look for member skylaw he has many posts on the subject.

for 05+, u have two options; 1) mObridge bluetooth kit, 2) OEM UHI kit
luckily, mine's 04 and i got away with BT puck with tail mod...
it works but every once in a while it doesn't pickup my iPhone...
i will eventually go with UHI kit with iPhone cradle (had enuf with Bluetooth)
for OEM mod, contact MBenzNL as the price will still be better than stealers'
